摘要: Provided is a method for preparing an alkaline red mud coating for preventing marine organism attachment, including: (1) mixing stearic acid and absolute ethanol by stirring to obtain a mixed solution; (2) mixing the mixed solution and a red mud powder to obtain a mixture, and drying the mixture to obtain a modified hydrophobic red mud powder; (3) adding benzyl glycidyl ether into an epoxy resin and conducting dispersion to be uniform to obtain a mixed system, adding the modified hydrophobic red mud powder into the mixed system, continuing the dispersion to be uniform to obtain a blend, and grinding the blend to obtain an antifouling coating material; and (4) during use, mixing the antifouling coating material with a polyamide curing agent to obtain a mixture system, and applying the mixture system onto a surface of building to form the alkaline red mud coating for preventing marine organism attachment.

摘要: The present invention relates to a composite element, especially for a damping element, comprising a) at least one metallic body having a surface; b) a coating comprising an epoxy resin on at least part of the surface of the metallic body; c) a plastics body comprising at least one polyurethane, which at least partly surrounds the metallic body of (a) and in the region of the surround is at least partly in direct contact with the coating of (b), wherein the composite element between the surface of the metallic body (a) and the coating (b) has a conversion layer (d) which comprises at least one compound selected from the group of zirconium(IV) oxide, zinc(II) phosphate, and chromate. The invention further relates to a damping element comprising the composite element and at least one further body which is at least partly in direct contact with the composite element, preferably with the plastics body of (c). The invention additionally relates to production processes for composite element and damping element, to the composite and damping elements, respectively, that are produced or producible by these processes, and the use of these composite and damping elements, respectively.

摘要: Cathodic electrocoating composition with improved edge protection and coating appearance are provided. An exemplary cathodic electrocoating composition includes an aqueous carrier, a film forming binder dispersed in the carrier and including an epoxy-amine adduct and a blocked polyisocyanate crosslinking agent; a pigment paste; a water-soluble cellulose ether; and a cationic microgel dispersion which is prepared by a process comprising dispersing in aqueous medium a mixture of a cationic polyepoxide-amine reaction product which contains amine groups selected from the group consisting of primary amine groups, secondary amine groups, and mixtures thereof and a polyepoxide crosslinking agent and heating the mixture to a temperature sufficient to crosslink the mixture to form the cationic microgel dispersion. The water-soluble cellulose ether may be hydroxyethyl cellulose.

Biofilm-resistant articles may comprise a surface subject to biofilm formation that is adapted to contact a liquid at least periodically; and a coating comprising metal nanoparticle agglomerates adhered to at least a portion of the surface. The metal nanoparticle agglomerates may at least partially inhibit formation or proliferation of a biofilm upon the surface of the article.
