摘要: An apparatus for punching and binding a stack of papers is disclosed. The apparatus includes a paper clamp and a binding element insertion device that are movable relative to each other. The binding element insertion device is configured to receive and detect binding elements of different sizes. The apparatus also includes a punching mechanism, a controller, and a user interface. The controller controls movement of the paper clamp and the binding element insertion device based on the size of the binding element needed to bind the stack of papers together. The user interface is configured to provide information to a user of the apparatus and to receive input from the user before, during, and after the punching and binding operation.

摘要: The present invention relates to novel human hiwi protein and genes that encode such proteins. The invention is directed toward the isolation and characterization of human hiwi proteins. The invention specifically provides isolated complementary DNA copies of mRNA corresponding a human hiwi gene. Also provided are recombinant expression constructs capable of expressing the human hiwi gene of the invention in cultures of transformed prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells, as well as such cultures of transformed cells that synthesize the human hiwi proteins encoded therein. The invention also provides methods for isolating human hematopoietic stem cells.

摘要: An extraoral suction device for managing aerosol emissions during dental procedures includes: a conduit; an adapter in fluid communication with the conduit; and a mount for mounting the extraoral suction device to a dental chair. The adapter is configured to be placed in fluid communication with a vacuum source to provide suction to the extraoral suction device. The conduit can be selectively manipulated to assume and maintain a position without support from an individual or designated support structure. A dental professional can thus manipulate the conduit to maintain a position in front of the oral cavity of a patient seated in the dental chair to direct aerosols emitted from the oral cavity of the patient into the extraoral suction device instead of the surrounding environment. The extraoral suction device can thus be combined with a dental chair and vacuum source to provide an improved dental chair system for dental procedures.

Methods of obtaining compositions enriched in hematopoietic megakaryocyte progenitor cells are also provided. Compositions enriched for stem cells and populations of cells obtained therefrom are also provided by the invention.
