摘要:
A method and apparatus for implicit floor control in push-to-talk over cellular system. A message is generated by a client in a communication system and is then streamed to a push-to-talk server. The server checks to see if the floor is idle, and if so, distributes the message to at least one other participant in the communication session. If the floor is not idle, the new message is stored and queued for distribution after all other messages ahead of the last received message have been distributed.

Systems and methods for correlating multiple registrations from a single device are disclosed. A private ID used in an prior registration may be used to obtain subsequent private IDs. The subsequent private IDs may be used in subsequent registrations. An instance ID from an prior registration may be used in conjunction with different registration IDs in subsequent registrations.

A method for synchronizing a local reference frequency in a mobile station includes measuring a current ambient condition of the mobile station and using stored data indicating variance of the local reference frequency with known ambient conditions to determine the method by which the local reference frequency is synchronized.

A method and apparatus for synchronizing to a time structure associated with base station transmissions in a radiocommunication system are described. A broadcast control channel can contain synchronization symbols within one or more of a plurality of timeslots. The symbols can be provided as periodic, e.g., exponential, signals which introduce a frequency deviation into the broadcast control channel. This frequency deviation can be recognized by the receiver to synchronize to the time structure of the base station transmissions. Moreover, the variation in the frequency deviation caused by phase rotation associated with local oscillator inaccuracy can also be compensated to achieve frequency synchronization.

In a method and apparatus for processing ECG signals for the purpose of detecting low-amplitude signal structures hidden in noise in the ECG signal, the ECG signals, number of cardiac cycles are analog-to-digital converted, and QRS complexes in the converted signals are detected. The signals from at least two cardiac cycles are cross-correlated, and the correlation between these signals in time intervals which comprise at least the time intervals of the two samples is determined. An output quantity representing the degree of correlation is thus obtained, the magnitude of this quantity designating the amplitude of the signal structure in question. This magnitude can then be analyzed to determine if, and where in the signal, the signal structure arises.

Apparatuses, methods, and systems are disclosed for registering with a mobile communication network (“MCN”) through another MCN. One apparatus includes a processor and a transceiver, wherein the apparatus is registered with a first MCN. The processor determines to register with a second MCN via the first MCN and sends a request to establish a data connection with the first MCN. The processor receives a command from the first MCN that initiates an authentication procedure with the first MCN and a registration procedure for registering the apparatus with the MCN. The processor exchanges a plurality of authentication messages with the first MCN, each of the authentication messages containing a signaling message for registering the apparatus with the second MCN, and completes the registration with the second MCN via the data connection in response to successfully establishing the data connection.

A system and method for delivery confirmation of a short message comprising sending the short message to an recipient communication device, determining that an instant message delivery notification (IMDN) is not received, and indicating delivery failure of the short message to the mobile station. In another aspect, if a 202 Accepted message is received, the IM server is subscribed to. Alternatively when a message indicating that an recipient communication device is reachable is received, the service center sends the short message to the communication device. In another alternative, if a recipient absence notification is received the short message is buffered in a service center until the service center receives notification that the recipient communication device is present. Upon receipt of the notification, the service center retransmits the short message, and a successful delivery report is sent when the short message is received by the recipient communication device.

A method and apparatus for interworking between push-to-talk over cellular (PoC) systems and instant messaging (IM) systems is provided. An interworking entity that behaves like a PoC client to a PoC server and as an IM client to the IM server is provided. The interworking entity may be implemented as part of the PoC server or the IM server. The interworking entity listens to talk bursts from the PoC server and when it receives a talk burst the interworking entity sends the message to the IM client via the IM server. In an embodiment, the interworking entity listens to talk bursts or audio clips from the IM server and when it receives them, stores them in a temporary storage memory and converts them to a streaming format. The interworking entity then requests the floor from the PoC server, and, once the floor is granted, streams the stored audio clip or talk burst to the PoC server. The PoC server then distributes the clips to the PoC clients.

A receiver can identify the source of a signal from an unsynchronized source. The receiver has an antenna for receiving two signals. The receiver correlates the first signal with a code to find a first location in time, and correlates the second signal with the same code to find a second location in time. The receiver calculates a time difference between the first location in time and the second location in time and uses the time difference to identify the source of the two signals. A group of base stations or directional antennas use the same long code and synchronization codes. However, each source shifts the long code by a different amount so that for any two sources there is a unique difference between the shifts in the long code. Each source shifts a set of synchronization codes the same amount as the long code. The synchronization codes can be any short code that is relatively easy for the mobile station to detect. When the receiver receives the two signals, the receiver calculates the difference in the shifts. Because there is a unique difference for each pair of sources, the receiver can identify the source of a signal from an unsynchronized source without having to connect to the source to use a broadcast channel or control channel. The receiver can distinguish between different synchronized sources without any prior synchronization.
