    摘要: An animal trap system that improves the reliability of a pre-existing animal trap is provided. The animal trap system may include a thin membrane forming an opening, wherein the opening is dimensioned to at least partially circumscribe a trigger mechanism of the pre-existing animal trap, while a remaining portion of the trap mat overlays a substantial portion of a supporting surface and/or base of the pre-existing animal trap where the animal may be dispose when setting off the trigger mechanism. The underlying surface of the trap mat may have a relatively low friction coefficient so as to cause a fleeing animal to slide and or slip along the supporting surface and/or base.

    摘要: A jig supports an array of cameras on a platform using a plurality of brackets among which one is immovably secured to the platform at a center of the array while the remainder is pivotally connected to the platform. A computer-implemented system creates an interlaced image. The system includes a trigger mechanism operatively coupled to the cameras to effect nearly simultaneous image capture. A focal target and a sizing reference are provided at a focal position of the lenses. A computer having a processor and a memory executes code that interlaces bands of images captured from each of the cameras, at nearly a single point in time, into an interlaced image and processes the sizing reference and adjusts a size of one or more of the captured images for inclusion in the interlaced image.

    摘要: A method for avoiding the precipitation of salts from a salt containing water stream prior to the stream reaching a supercritical water reactor is presented. The salt containing water stream is preferably kept at temperatures below supercritical conditions as the stream is transferred to the reactor. After the salt stream reaches the reactor the temperature of the salt stream is preferably raised to the appropriate temperature by mixing the salt stream, within the reactor, with a second stream that has been heated above the supercritical temperature of water. Alternatively, a method for preventing the clogging of the conduits upstream from the reactor may involve the mixing of two subcritical waste streams. One stream may include salts, the other preferably includes oxidizable material. The heat produced by the reaction of the oxidizable materials within the reactor preferably allows the mixture to remain at supercritical conditions for a time sufficient to oxidize substantially all of the oxidizable material.

    摘要: The invention provides an archival storage system for shielding magnetic media from a full spectrum of electromagnetic fields, static electricity, and humidity. Full spectrum EMF shielding may be achieved by providing the storage container with a continuous conductive layer along or on an interior region of the storage container. Also, shielding against intense, low frequency magnetic fields may be provided by a ferrous metal sheet, separated from the stored magnetic media by an insulator, which has been placed a plane generally perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the reels of a videotape or floppy disk. Further, a moisture seal may be provided to prevent moisture from reaching the stored magnetic media and thereby enhance the longevity of the stored magnetic media, and a desiccant may be provided to maintain or stabilize a low humidity environment within the storage case.

    摘要: A mobile unit positionable and drivable upon railroad tracks for applying a bead of lubricant to the gauge surfaces of the track which includes a lubricant delivery source for delivering lubricant to a pair of nozzles which are arranged in position to direct the lubricant onto the proper area of the track. The unit includes an electric/hydraulic power unit to supply pumping power to a primary lubricant delivery unit which directs the lubricant through a common flow system to the nozzles which are directed to the proper rail locations. The unit also includes lubricant filters, automatic shut off devices and automatic speed control devices for proper delivery of the lubricant to the rail surface. Heating devices are included for temperature maintenance of the lubricant under various temperature conditions.

    摘要: An insect control device for attracting and capturing insects includes a base; and a resonator column that is in the form of a hollow tube having an open first end and an open second end. The first end is coupled to the base such that the resonator column stands upright therefrom. The second end is substantially open when the resonator column is coupled to the base. The resonator column is constructed and sized and shaped to resonate as a result of natural movements of insects captured on the resonator column resulting in sounds emanating from the captured insects being amplified by the resonator column which in turn serves to attract additional insects to the resonator column. The resonator column is free of electronic components and sound that is generated for attracting insects is generated without electronic components and is a natural sound amplified by the resonator column.
