摘要: A font storage management and control arrangement which allows the addition of fonts to font storage and includes a font filter which provides a multilevel control of font information stored, to allow optimum use of limited font storage facilities. As font information is stored to font storage in printer controller, the font characteristics are examined for comparison with a predetermined list of font storage requirements. Font information is stored in accordance with user determination of whether particular font information is useful for the user.

摘要: In a printer system which allows printing in multiple fonts, where the font to be used is specified in an encoded document to be printed, an operator designation of font equivalency is provided which specifies acceptable font substitutes of available fonts for unavailable fonts. Upon detection of a document specification of an unavailable font, a print controller searches a mapping of known fonts to available fonts to determine if an equivalent font has been designated. The mapping is operator-set in accordance with the operator perception of equivalence. Font equivalency mapping may be a yes/no equivalent, indicating substitution or job fault, or the mapping may have a multilevel substitution hierarchy, in which degress of equivalency are determined by the operator, and result in different warnings or machine operations dependent on different degrees of equivalency. An operator may also program the job to allow printing if the equivalency falls within a certain degree, changing that degree depending upon customer sensitivity to font use.

摘要: A vehicle seat liner is used to allow manual extrication of an injured driver from the vehicle seat. The liner is formed of two rigid board elements disposed against those portions of said vehicle seat normally contacted by the back and buttocks of the operator when seated. The board elements are pivotally joined to each other adjacent the juncture of the aforesaid portions of the vehicle seat. This permits the driver to sit on the liner when in the seated position in the vehicle seat and to lie upon the liner when the board elements are pivoted relative to each other to form a substantially planar configuration. The liner also has handles, hand grips, straps, or the like, that can be grasped by rescue personnel reaching into the interior of the vehicle to extricate the driver. This permits rescuers to lift the liner and the driver from the vehicle seat and out of the vehicle while stabilizing of the head and spinal cord of the driver.
