摘要: A series of progressive opthalmatic lens elements, each lens element including a lens surface having an upper viewing zone having a surface power to achieve a refracting power corresponding to distance vision; a lower viewing zone having a greater surface power than the upper viewing zone to achieve a refracting power corresponding to near vision; a corridor of relatively low surface astigmatism connecting the upper and lower zones, said corridor having a surface power varying from that of the upper viewing zone to that of the lower viewing zone; the progressive opthalmatic lens series including a first set of lens elements having a base curve(s) suitable for use in providing a range of distance prescriptions for a first category of patient; and a second set of lens elements having a base curve(s) suitable for use in providing a range of distance prescriptions for a second category of patient; each lens element within a set differing in prescribed addition power and including a progressive design, in at least one of the upper and lower viewing zones, depending upon the addition power of the lens element; the lens elements in the first set differing substantively in progressive design from the corresponding lens elements in the second set due to the differences in base curve(s).

摘要: A progressive ophthalmic lens element having a front surface that includes an upper viewing zone having a surface power suitable for distance vision, a lower viewing zone having a surface power suitable for near vision, and a corridor of relatively low astigmatism connecting the upper and lower viewing zones, the corridor being a part of an intermediate viewing zone having a surface power varying from that of the upper viewing zone to that of the lower viewing zone. The progressive ophthalmic lens element also has a back surface. The invention is then characterized by the front surface including at least one correction to improve optical performance of the lens element by at least partially compensating for a cylinder correction applied to, or to be applied to, the backsurface.

摘要: A progressive ophthalmic lens element is disclosed. The progressive ophthalmic lens element includes an upper viewing zone, a lower viewing zone, a corridor, and a peripheral region disposed on each side of the lower viewing zone. The upper viewing zone includes a distance reference point (DRP) and a fitting cross, and provides a first refractive power for distance vision. The lower viewing zone, which is for near vision, provides an addition power relative to the first refractive power. The corridor connects the upper and lower zones and provides a refractive power varying from that of the upper viewing zone to that of the lower viewing zone. Each peripheral region includes a zone of positive power relative to the addition power which provides therein a positive refractive power relative to the refractive power of the lower viewing zone. The zones of relative positive power are disposed immediately adjacent to the lower viewing zone such that the lower viewing zone interposes the zones of relative positive power.

摘要: An ophthalmic lens element is disclosed. The lens element includes a front surface and a rear surface, at least one which includes a horizontal meridian and a vertical meridian. A central region of the lens element includes a foveal vision zone providing a first power for providing clear foveal vision for a wearer. A peripheral region of positive power relative to the first power is also included. The peripheral region includes dual progressive zones located bilaterally of the vertical meridian and extending radially outwardly from the central region. The lens element provides a distribution of surface astigmatism which provides, on the horizontal meridian, a relatively low surface astigmatism in the central region and the progressive zones.

摘要: An ophthalmic lens element (100) for correcting myopia in a wearer's eye is disclosed. The lens element (100) includes a central zone (102) and a peripheral zone (104). The central zone (102) provides a first optical correction for substantially correcting myopia associated with the foveal region of the wearer's eye. The peripheral zone (104) surrounds the central zone (102) and provides a second optical correction for substantially correcting myopia or hyperopia associated with a peripheral region of the retina of the wearer's eye. A system and method for dispensing or designing an ophthalmic lens element for correcting myopia in a wearer's eye is also disclosed.

摘要: A progressive ophthalmic lens including a far vision zone, a near vision zone and an intermediate vision zone is provided having a relatively high, relatively wide near vision zone and a relatively wide intermediate zone. A surface correction(s) for reducing optical aberrations in peripheral regions of the lens may be provided within a pair of generally horizontally disposed opposed segments approximately ±22.5° above and below a generally horizontally axis passing through a fitting cross. Two or more progress ophthalmic lenses differing in prescribed addition power may be placed in series to provide a range of distance prescriptions for one or more of emmetropes, hyperopes and myopes. A method of designing the progressive ophthalmic lens is also disclosed.

摘要: The present invention involves the prescribing and/or dispensing ophthalmic lenses, such as progressive addition lenses, for a wearer. In one form of the invention lens usage information is obtained from a wearer and entered into a programmed computer. The programmed computer processes the lens usage information to provide a separate weighted lifestyle score for each of one or more respective lifestyle score categories, such that each weighted lifestyle score is a function of a predetermined relationship between the respective lifestyle score category and at least ophthalmic lens design feature. The programmed computer then selects or designs an ophthalmic lens design using one or more of the weighted lifestyle scores such that the selected or designed ophthalmic lens has at least one lens design feature which has been customised using one or more of the weighted lifestyle scores.

摘要: An array of progressive ophthalmic lens elements is disclosed. The progressive ophthalmic elements contained in the array having substantially the same addition power and substantially the same optical prescription for distance vision. Each of the progressive ophthalmic lens elements has a progressive lens design characterised by a set of parameters defining a distance zone providing a refracting power for distance vision, a near zone providing a refracting power for near vision and a corridor having a refracting power varying from that of the distance zone to that of the near zone. The progressive ophthalmic lens elements provide, for a range of values or categories of at least two lifestyle and/or biometric parameters of lens wearers, different progressive lens designs in which at least two of the lens design parameters each have a respective value or characteristic attributable to, or associated with, a particular value or category of a respective one of the lifestyle and/or biometric parameters.

摘要: A method of designing and/or selecting a progressive addition lens design for a wearer is disclosed. In an embodiment, the method includes displaying a graphical representation of an initial progressive addition lens design including design parameters having design values. A user interface is provided including, for each of one or more of the design parameters, a control that is adjustable over a range of levels, each level in the range being associated with a corresponding value of the respective design parameter. A control is adjusted to select a level and the selection is processed so as to substantially simultaneously update the displayed graphical representation in accordance with the selected level to provide a modified progressive lens design. A system for designing and/or selecting a progressive addition lens design for a wearer is also disclosed.
