摘要： Self-cleaning separator apparatus is used in combination with a vertical settling chamber for extracting fiber product from a moving air stream. The separator apparatus includes a housing forming an air stream inlet, a product discharge outlet and a clean air outlet. A rotatable screen is interposed between the air stream inlet and the clean air outlet for collecting the fiber product on the screen as the air stream flows through the screen for discharge into the atmosphere. An air flow gradient is induced in the settling chamber whereby the air flow rate through the rotating screen is substantially smaller near the bottom of the settling chamber than it is near the top of the settling chamber. The gradient is produced in part by a transversely extending baffle plate mounted in the annular flow region near the product discharge outlet, and in part by the off-center placement of the rotary screen closely adjacent the sidewalls of the settling chamber which converge toward the product discharge outlet. The off-center placement of the rotary screen, relative to the settling chamber sidewalls, and the presence of the baffle plate within the annular flow region reduce the air stream flow rate at the entrance to the product discharge outlet. The accumulated fiber product drops off of the rotating screen and falls into the product discharge outlet by gravity flow as the screen turns through the low flow rate region.

摘要： Cyclonic separator apparatus for extracting entrained lint particles from an effluent air stream prior to discharge into the atmosphere. A rotary filter is combined with a cyclonic separator of the type having a vertical settling chamber for separating relatively dense fiber product from airborne lint entrained in a product stream. The separator apparatus includes a housing forming an air stream inlet, a lint discharge outlet and a clean air outlet. A rotatable screen is interposed between the air stream inlet and the clean air outlet whereby the entrained lint is accumulated on the screen as the effluent air stream flows through the screen for discharge into the atmosphere. The accumulated lint deposit is presented to the lint discharge outlet as the screen turns. A first fan blower is coupled to the separator for inducing an upwardly moving inner vortex for entraining the airborne lint, and coupled to the filter inlet for discharging the entrained lint onto the rotatable screen. A second fan blower is coupled to the lint discharge port for creating a suction force which cleans the accumulated lint deposit from the rotating screen, and connected to the separator for returning the lint deposit to the settling chamber of the separator for recycling. In a preferred embodiment, the rotating screen comprises a drum having a cylindrical screen surface for accumulating a lint deposit, with one end of the drum being covered by a screen, and the other end being open for discharge of the effluent air stream into the atmosphere.

摘要： Method and filter apparatus for extracting entrained lint particles from an effluent air stream prior to discharge into the atmosphere. Bulk fiber product which settles to the bottom of the chamber is discharged through a rotary valve in the product discharge outlet. Compressed air is discharged through the screen from inside to outside which cleans the accumulated lint deposit from the rotating screen. In a preferred embodiment, the rotary screen comprises a drum having a cylindrical screen surface for accumulating the lint deposit, with both ends of the drum being rotatably sealed against the settling chamber housing by a resilient sealing member.

摘要： A filter system and method for extracting entrained lint particles from an effluent air stream prior to discharge into the atmosphere. The system and method are intended for use in combination with a cyclonic separator of the type having a vertical settling chamber for separating relatively dense fiber product from airborne lint entrained in a product stream.
