摘要:
Systems and methods provide incentives to a stimulative visual therapy user performing computer based visual therapy. User compliance with a recommended schedule of visual therapy is recorded, reward points are provided to the user based on compliance, and the user is rewarded based on the number of accumulated reward points awarded to the user.

A method is provided to map the sight perception of a patient and/or for therapeutically stimulating the patient. The method includes providing a target focal stimulation on a luminous background stimulation field so that the patient may focus upon the target and thereby keep the patient's retina in a fixed position. A temporary peripheral visual stimulation is then created in a region that is peripheral to the fixation target. The peripheral visual stimulation is darker than the background field. A computer records whether the patient was able to see the peripheral stimulation and stores the patient response data in a manner that maintains association with the position of the peripheral visual stimulation. The process is then repeated with additional stimuli and response recordations to create automatically, in computer media, a peripheral vision map. The vision map may be used to allocate a finite number of therapeutic stimuli to an identified visual field region of the patient having high therapeutic potential. The vision map may include a contrast dimension.

An adjustable and foldable device for visual field testing or treatment includes a computer display mounted on a base and presents visual stimuli to the patient. An associated head support assembly with a chinrest supports and positions the head of the subject with respect to the display. An articulated arm joins the base and the head support assembly. The arm will resist a given downward force supplied by the head, and is foldable toward the display to create a more compact and portable device. Additional articulations may allow the head support assembly to fold upon arm, and the arm to fold upon the base. The device may include a locking mechanism that secures the device in a folded or unfolded configuration.

A method and device for treating the visual system of a human is provided. The method comprises situating the human in proximity to a computer-actuated light emitting array that has a set of individually actuable elements. A campimetric representation of the visual field is used to select a stimulus distribution. An actuable element subset is selected from the set of individually actuable elements based on the stimulus distribution. The subset of elements is actuated to emit a light stimulus that is directed to a specified region of the human's visual field. The stimulus distribution may be biased toward the central visual field or based on apportioning among specified zones. The distribution may also be based on a transition zone.
