摘要: A novelty flashlight with a clear body. The front half is cone shaped and houses a light bulb, 2 AA batteries and a switch, and is covered with an attractive soft material. The rear half houses a liquid (e.g. water) and ornamental elements. An opaque cap is provided which, when placed over the front end of the flashlight, blocks light from escaping other than toward the rear end of the flashlight to illuminate the liquid and ornamental elements, acting as a nightlight for kids. The front end is surrounded by a reflective/opaque coating under the soft material. The bulb support, which is usually a reflective parabolically shaped piece in a typical flashlight, is transparent to allow light to pass backward into the rear end of the flashlight. Light is also conducted through the clear flashlight housing.

摘要: A device includes a connection receiving power from a power source under normal conditions and circuitry configured to determine, based on an input from the connection, when the power from the power source is absent; output, when the power source is absent, a test signal at the connection; and generate a detection signal based on current flow generated following the output of the test signal, wherein the detection signal indicates a position of a switch connecting the circuitry to the connection and the generated detection signal indicates the switch is closed when the current flow is above a threshold. The circuitry is configured such that when the power from the power source is absent, the switch is closed, and plural devices are connected on the supply side of the switch, the plurality of devices on the supply side appear as a substantially open circuit to the test signal.

摘要: A light device includes a nightlight unit adapted to operate in an automatic mode, an on mode, or an off mode; an illumination unit comprising a sensor, the illumination unit being removably secured to the nightlight unit; and a charging unit for charging the illumination unit. The lighting unit is adapted to come on automatically by operating in the automatic mode, continuously emit light by operating in the on mode, or stop emitting light by operating in the off mode. The illumination unit is adapted to come on automatically to emit light either when the sensor senses an activating condition in the form of an absence of AC or after removing from the nightlight unit. The sensor is adapted to disable the illumination unit either when sensing a termination of the activating condition or after placing the illumination unit in the nightlight unit and electrically connecting thereto.

摘要: The invention is a small, portable illumination device which is used to illuminate reading material or other material. The device contains a clip which a user can employ to attach the device to a book or other reading material. The clip holds the illuminating device in place relative to the material. The device uses either battery or alternating current as power and can be switched from one to the other by insertion or removal of a male plug of a 120V AC/DC adapter into or from a jack in the device. The device can be turned on or shut off when a user switches the ON-OFF switch. In addition, there is a countdown timer which the user can set to a desired number of minutes. Once the countdown timer starts, the device will illuminate the material for the number of minutes to which the user set the countdown timer. When the countdown timer reaches zero, the device shuts off automatically. A buzzer sounds when the countdown timer reaches two minutes. There is also a display which shows the number of minutes and seconds before the countdown timer reaches zero.
