    摘要: A ballast for driving one or more lamps includes a controller and a current reduction circuit for accelerating a controller reset. Upon detecting a fault, the controller disables the ballast for a preset period of time, and resets. The controller additionally resets when the ratio of a supplied second value to a supplied first value falls below a threshold value. The current reduction circuit reduces the supplied second value in less than the preset period of time, such that the ratio falls below the threshold value and the controller resets. An emergency lighting system includes the ballast as a primary ballast, a backup ballast, and a primary power source. The controller detects a fault if the primary power source de-energizes and the backup ballast disconnects the one or more lamps from the primary ballast. The current reduction circuit accelerates the reset of the controller when the primary power source de-energizes.

    摘要: A lighting control system is provided for a space that is equipped with multiple lamps for illuminating the space and multiple power circuits for supplying power to different groups of the lamps. The control system stores information relating to the past illumination of the lamps in each of the different groups. The system detects conditions or events that indicate that increased illumination of the space by the lamps is needed, and produces a control signal in response to the detection of a condition or event that indicates that increased illumination of the space by the lamps is needed. In response to the control signal, the system supplies power to at least one of the power circuits, which is selected on the basis of the stored information, to turn ON the group of lamps receiving electrical power from that power circuit.

    摘要: A lighting unit having a light generation section, a light analysis section, a controller, and a first communication interface is disclosed. The light generation section and the light analysis section are housed in a housing having a transparent window. The light generating section includes a plurality of groups of LEDs, each group emitting light of a different spectrum than the other groups. The light analysis section generates intensity signals related to the intensity of light generated by each of the groups and the intensity of light originating from a location outside the housing. The controller adjusts a current through each of the LEDs in response to the intensity signals. The first communication interface is utilized by the controller to communicate with a device external to the lighting unit for receiving commands during the operation of the lighting unit.

    摘要: In order to make continuous lamp operation in a failsafe lamp, particularly a lamp for medical applications, having a discharge lamp possible even when changing over between a power supply system (low voltage supply system of, for example, 24 V) and an additional safety power supply (ZSV), a buffer store is discharged in the event of a fault in the power supply for a supply unit for the lamp by changing over to a standby power source, or, once the fault has been eliminated, from the standby power source back to the normal power supply, the buffer store outputting electrical energy to operate the discharge lamp. The electrical energy supplied to the supply unit (EVG) first passes trough a full-wave rectifier and is then supplied to a voltage converter containing the buffer store. The discharge lamp is subsequently supplied with the electrical energy via a power-regulated inverter. Thus, it is ensured that, even for changeover procedures with different current typesnulle.g. from alternating current to direct currentnullthe power regulation of the discharge lamp permits unimpaired, continuous discharge lamp operation. In the event of a fault in the operation of the discharge lamp or its energy supply, a circuit for operating a halogen incandescent lamp as a reserve lamp is completed.

    摘要: This safety lighting arrangement is especially suited for use with variously rated HID light sources having current ratings ranging from relatively low to relatively high values. The safety light arrangement includes a current transformer having a magnetizable core, a primary winding inductively coupled to the core for connection in series with the primary circuit in which the HID light source is connected, and a secondary winding inductively coupled to the core. The core is saturable by the primary winding current present when the current through the HID light source is as low as the current rating of one of the relatively low rated HID sources. The safety light arrangement also includes a monitoring relay connected across the secondary winding and maintained in an activated condition when the primary winding is traversed by current producing saturation of the core. This monitoring relay is set to drop out when current through the primary winding and the HID source is interrupted by a power interruption. The monitoring relay controls an auxiliary light source serving as a safety light. An energizing circuit for the auxiliary light source is effective to operate the auxiliary light source when the monitoring relay has dropped out but is rendered ineffective to operate the auxiliary light source when the monitoring relay is activated.

    摘要: An auxiliary lighting system to be used with a high intensity discharge lamp having a solid state or electronic ballast. An auxiliary lamp is connected to a source of power through the normally closed contacts of a relay. The relay coil is in the input line to the solid state ballast. Above a predetermined threshold current to the ballast, the relay coil causes the normally closed contacts to open thereby extinguishing the auxiliary lamp. When the high intensity discharge lamp is turned on, or when there is an interrupt, the power requirements for the HID lamp are at a low point. Thus the input current to the solid state ballast is below the threshold, the contacts are closed and the auxiliary lamp is turned on.
