A photographic material comprising a support having on the surface a polypropylene resin component and a hydrophilic colloidal layer on the top surface which are firmly adhered together, is produced by subjecting the support having on the surface a polypropylene resin component to corona discharge, applying thereto a subbing layer comprising (a) at least one water-dispersed polymer latex selected from butadiene-acrylic ester copolymers, polyvinyl chloride and polystyrene, (b) a compound having an ethyleneimino group such as that capable of hardening a colloidal gelatin or casein, and (c) a water-soluble polymer, and providing a hydrophilic protective colloidal layer on said subbing layer.

The present invention provides a processing composition which is used for lithographic printing plate where silver image is used as ink receptive area for enhancing ink receptivity of the silver image. This composition contains an organic compound having two or more mercapto groups or thion groups and, in combination therewith, an aromatic sulfonic acid formalin condensate, an anionic surfactant having a polyoxyethylene group, an aromatic carboxylic acid, a hydrosulfite compound, a water-soluble polymer having a carboxyl group and having a number-average molecular weight of about 20,000 or less, a hydroxyaryl fatty acid, or an organic disulfide compound. If this composition additionally contains an oxidizing agent, it can further improve printing endurance of the printing plate.

Silver halide photographic materials having excellent antistatic property and high acceptability for drafting, processing resistance and adhesion to hydrophobic supports can be obtained by providing antistatic layer which comprises (a) a styrene-maleic anhydride copolymer, (b) colloidal silica and (c) at least one compound selected from the group consisting of compounds having at least 2 ethyleneimino groups and compounds having at least 2 epoxy rings and which has a pH value of at least about 5, said antistatic layer being provided on one or both surfaces of the support.
