    摘要: A method is disclosed for target ray resolution in coherent, conically scanned radar when a target image is present. An envelope detector and frequency discriminator operate on the IF signal. The fundamental and second harmonic components of the conical scan out of the discriminator are used in a computer along with the DC, fundamental, and second harmonic of the envelope out of the detector to solve five equations in five unknowns. That yields the elevation angles to the target and its image. The larger of the two angles is selected as the elevation angle to the target. The first harmonic and the DC component of the envelope are employed to produce an estimate of the target azimuth angle.

    摘要: A phase converter is disclosed in which a selected number of higher order even harmonics of each of two signals, whose phase difference is to be converted to digital form, are generated. Corresponding even harmonics are mixed in separated mixers and filtered to provide an output in binary digital form. The fundamental harmonics of the two signal are combined to provide two outputs in binary digital form which together with the outputs of the other harmonics represent an output in the form of a reflected binary code.

    摘要: Adaptive doppler signal processing is disclosed in coherent pulsed radars with phased array antennas. Outputs from each range ring are obtained for each of K consecutive pulses and from each of N receiving array elements. These KN outputs are multiplied by complex weights and added to obtain the system output. The complex weights are controlled adaptively. To improve the convergence rate of an adaptive 2-pulse moving-target-indicating system, the pulse outputs V1 and V2 from each of the N elements are first passed through a transformation matrix.

    摘要: A multifunction receiving array antenna system is provided which utilizes energy normally rejected (reflected or dissipated) by antennas employing amplitude tapering to derive auxiliary antenna outputs in addition to the main output. This is achieved at negligible degradation to the performance of the main antenna channel by configurationally redesigning the array feed structure so as to divert the normally rejected energy to additional antenna ports. The technique is compatible with applications, such as radar applications, in which the antenna must be used to transmit as well as to receive. The auxiliary outputs could, for example, have broad, relatively omnidirectional, patterns useful for side-lobe cancellation and side-lobe blanking applications.

    摘要: A digital telephone switching system is disclosed in which voice or other communication signals are converted to digital signals and switched in the digital form. The digital signals are reconverted to analog signals and sent out on the selected line or trunk. To accomplish that, dialing signals (pulses or tones) are used to enable a selected AND gate in a matrix for transmission from the calling line to a line called, using an analog-to-digital converter on the calling line and a digital-toanalog converter on the called line. An AND gate selectively enabled in the same manner in a second matrix provides transmission from the called line to the calling line, again using analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog converters. For two-wire circuits hybrid junctions couple the calling line and the called line to the analog ends of associated analog-todigital and digital-to-analog converters. In a second embodiment, the digital switching matrices are implemented by the use of time division multiplexing between input and output registers. In either embodiment the switching action could be controlled by a programmable digital computer.
