Abstract:
A steering head assembly comprising a cable wheel rotatably mounted on a depending hub forming a part of a housing being open at its underside to permit attachment of a cable wheel, a back plate covering the base of the housing, a cable wheel having helically grooved annular recesses in its periphery adapted to drivingly engage a helical wound cable such that rotation of the cable wheel causes translational movement of the cable, the housing provided with a plurality of openings through which the cable moves, the cable wheel being internally toothed for driving engagement with a pinion gear, the pinion being formed in one piece with and at its lower end of a shaft with the pinion being journaled for rotatable movement in the housing, the shaft having relatively larger and smaller diameter regions which make bearing contact with the bearing surface presented by the housing.
Abstract:
A vehicle seat comprising a central spine having a head rest and kidney pads attached thereto, projects upwardly from a pelvic support frame. A seat squab support tray is attached to said pelvic support frame and power means to adjust said central spine is provided.
Abstract:
A seat harness or safety belt comprising a first assembly adapted to be mounted at one side of a seat and including a first part of a two-part fastening buckle. A second assembly adapted to be mounted at the other side of the seat and including a springloaded webbing retracting reel which supplies a variable length of webbing having at its free end the other part of said fastening buckle. Manually releasable snubbing device which normally engages the webbing leaving the reel to restrain the webbing from movement into and out of said reel, said second assembly further includes a flexible stalk through which said webbing passes. The reel and the snubbing device being located at respective opposite ends of said stalk, said first assembly further includes a flexible stalk at one end of which is attached said first part of the fastening buckle.
Abstract:
In a vehicle seat a mount for said seat having a base which is adapted to be positionally adjusted fore-and-aft along a track comprising three parallel equally spaced rails, roller means attached to said mount and so positioned thereon to ride on said parallel rails, said rails adjusted to support, guide and hold down said base of said seat on said rails, driving and locking means associated with said centrally disposed rail to selectively drive or lock said base on said rails, said roller means including a swivelling bogie mounted on said base, said drive means including a drive motor adapted to drive driving gear means, said driving gear means operably mounted on said swivelling bogie and adapted to mesh with corresponding rack teeth disposed on and along said centrally disposed rail, said swivelling bogie including a slipping clutch means to provide speed rundown of said drive motor, in the event said base of said vehicle seat is positionally locked on said rails.
Abstract:
A non-linear control device responds to cable core movement of a push-pull cable to control a pump through the rotation of a pump control shaft. A flange member, which is mounted on the pump housing, has a cam plate pivotally mounted thereon for movement about an axis parallel with the control shaft. The cam plate has an arcuate cam slot provided therein. A radially extending shaft lever of the control shaft has a bearing cam follower at its extended end which is operatively disposed within the cam slot. The cable core is attached to the cam plate at a point remote from the axis to cause the cam plate to move in response thereto.
Abstract:
An improved locking device comprising two assemblies relatively slidable with respect to each other, one of said assemblies having a support means extending in the direction of relative sliding and having thereon a first position holding means, the other of said assemblies having thereon a second position holding means for operative engagement with said first position holding means and biasing means attached to a toggle link means, said toggle link means being connected to said second position holding means for shifting it into and out of engagement with said first position holding means.
