摘要: A rack supporting device for vehicle steering systems includes: a steering housing having a steering gear installed therein; a rack bar longitudinally inserted into the steering housing to engage with the steering gear; a tapered passage defined in an inner circumference of the steering housing, wherein the tapered passage is eccentric with an axial center of the steering housing; a rack bushing inserted between an inner circumference of the tapered passage and an outer circumference of the rack bar so that the rack bushing moves along the tapered passage and pushes the rack bar to the steering gear; and an elastic member mounted to one side of the tapered passage to provide an elastic pressing force for pushing the rack bar to the rack bushing.

Each roller is supported by a bearing having rotating bearing elements. A clearance compensation for the diametrical difference between a diameter of each roller and an inscribed diameter of the associated rotating bearing elements is included in the plurality of teeth of the output such that there is no interference between the plurality of rollers and the plurality of teeth.

摘要: A rack guide device includes a rack guide, a blocking member, a plate spring and a holding member. The rack guide is accommodated in an accommodating portion that is formed in a housing through which a rack shaft is inserted so as to move towards or away from the rack shaft and that supports the rack shaft so that the rack shaft slides in an axial direction thereof. The blocking member is fixed to an external opening end provided on an opposite side of the accommodating portion to a side thereof that faces the rack shaft. The disc spring is interposed between the blocking member and the rack guide to bias the rack guide towards the rack shaft. The holding member holds the disc spring and is directly or indirectly held to the rack guide or the blocking member through frictional engagement.

摘要: A rack bush, which constitutes a rack and pinion type steering system and supports a rack shaft in which rack teeth are formed at one circumferential portion, includes a bush main body and a rigidity reducing portion. The bush main body has an annular shape into which the rack shaft is inserted. The bush main body is divided, in a circumferential direction, into two portions including a rack teeth-side portion located on the same side as the rack teeth in the circumferential direction and a back face-side portion other than the rack teeth-side portion. The rigidity reducing portion is provided in the rack teeth-side portion, and makes a rigidity of the rack teeth-side portion lower than a rigidity of the back face-side portion.

摘要: A rack and pinion mechanism includes: a pinion shaft at which pinion teeth are formed; a rack shaft at which rack teeth to be engaged with the pinion teeth are formed; a pressing portion arranged at a side of the rack shaft opposite to a side of the rack shaft at which the rack teeth are formed and pressing the rack shaft toward the pinion shaft; a first elastic body biasing the pressing portion in a direction approaching the pinion shaft by an elastic restoring force; and a second elastic body biasing the pressing portion in a direction away from the pinion shaft by an elastic restoring force, and a first biasing force with which the first elastic body biases the pressing portion is larger than a second biasing force with which the second elastic body biases the pressing portion in an initial state.
