摘要:
A disc cartridge assembling apparatus in which a protuberance formed on the inner surface of one of cartridge halves of a thermoplastic resin making up a main cartridge body unit is passed through a through-hole formed in the other cartridge half in register with the protuberance, and in which the distal end of the protuberance is thermally deformed to interconnect the cartridge halves. The upper and lower cartridge halves are stacked together, with a protuberance formed on the upper cartridge half being passed through the through-hole formed in the upper cartridge half, and are held by a holding mechanism. In this state, the distal end of the protuberance is thermally deformed by a caulking head, heated by a heater, and which is provided with a recess in its surface adapted to compress against the protuberance. Then, as the caulking head is moved away from the thermally deformed protuberance, the caulking head and the protuberance are cooled by a cooling mechanism. This effectively shortens the caulking process since the thermal deformation of the protuberance until the solidification.

An attachment apparatus and method for attaching a disc protective sheet to at least one half of a magnetic disc cartridge body include a supporting mechanism that supports each half body section of the cartridge body. The apparatus and method also include a supply mechanism that provides disc protective sheets to the one half body section. Each protective sheet is punched from a web of material and includes a cutout that corresponds to an opening provided in the one half body section to expose part of a magnetic disc held within the body when assembled. Each protective sheet also includes a thermal fusible layer on an attachment surface opposite a surface that will face a disc when the cartridge body is assembled. Each protective sheet to be assembled is arranged so that the cutout and the opening in the one half body section corresponds to one another. A fusing mechanism has a shape that is slightly larger than that of the protective sheets and is positioned directly over the supporting mechanism. A one half body section including a sheet to be fused is positioned therebetween. The fusing mechanism presses the protective sheet and fuses the fusible layer to the one half body section to fixedly fuse the sheet to the body section. The supporting mechanism and fusing mechanism are moved toward one another to sandwich the one half body section and the protective sheet to be fused therebetween.
摘要:
An attachment apparatus for disc protective sheet which is adapted for attaching disc protective sheet for protecting disc rotatably accommodated within a cartridge body formed by connecting or joining a pair of upper and lower halves with respect to the surface opposite to the disc of the half. This apparatus comprises a supporting mechanism for supporting halves constituting the cartridge body to which disc protective sheets are attached, a supply mechanism for supplying disc protective sheet to the half, the disc protective sheet being such that a cut portion larger than an opening portion provided at the half and facing a portion of the disc toward the external is provided and a thermal fusible layer is provided on the attachment surface of the surface opposite to the disc of the half in the state where the thermal fusible layer is opposed to the surface opposite to the disc of the half and the cut portion is caused to correspond to the opening portion, and a fusing mechanism having outer shape slightly larger than that of the disc protective sheet and disposed in a manner opposite to the supporting mechanism, the fusing mechanism serving to fuse the thermal fusible layer of the disc protective sheet delivered to the half to fixedly fuse the disc protective sheet onto the half. When the supporting mechanism is moved toward the fusing mechanism side so that the fusing mechanism and the supporting mechanism are relatively moved, the disc protective sheet is fixedly fused onto the surface opposite to the disc of the half by the fusing mechanism.
