    摘要: A disk recording-playback device including a laser drive circuit for feeding a drive signal to an optical head and adjusting the power of a laser beam irradiated by the optical head, an error correcting circuit for detecting an error rate of a reproduced signal, and a system controller for controlling operation of the laser drive circuit for signal reproduction and signal recording based on the output of the error correcting circuit. The system controller successively sets the laser powers to at least three different values, obtains evaluation data for each laser power, approximates the relationships between the laser powers and the evaluation data to a quadratic curve, whereby an optimum laser power is derived corresponding to a vertex of the quadratic curve. Accordingly the optimum reproduction power and recording power are set, to thereby record and reproduce signals with high accuracy.

    摘要: An object of the present invention is to provide an optical recording/reproducing apparatus capable of improving medium usability through a laser power adjusting process while keeping compatibility with a read only type medium. The optical recording/reproducing apparatus adjusts laser power using a PCA till the PCA is used up. After the PCA is used up, an additional area is reserved at the outermost circumference position, thereafter when the additional area is used up, a new additional area is reserved at an inner circumference side of the used up additional area to adjust laser power. The additional area is reserved at an outer circumference than a lead-out area, and therefore format compatibility with a read only type optical disc can be maintained. The additional area is reserved only when the PCA is used up, thus capacity compatibility with a read only type optical disc can be maintained while laser power is adjusted with only the PCA.

    摘要: A negative-tone radiation-sensitive composition includes a polymer, a photoacid generator, and a solvent. The polymer has a polystyrene-reduced weight average molecular weight of 4000 to 200,000, and is obtained by hydrolysis and condensation of at least one hydrolyzable silane compound among compounds shown by RaSi(OR1)4-a, Si(OR2)4 and R3x(R4O)3-xSi—(R7)z—Si(OR5)3-yR6y. “R” represents a fluorine atom, an alkylcarbonyloxy group, or a linear or branched alkyl group having 1 to 5 carbon atoms. “R1” represents a monovalent organic group. “R2” represents a monovalent organic group. “R3” and “R6” individually represent a fluorine atom, an alkylcarbonyloxy group, or a linear or branched alkyl group having 1 to 5 carbon atoms “R4” and “R5” individually represent a monovalent organic group. “R7” represents an oxygen atom, a phenylene group, or a group —(CH2)m—. The content of units derived from the compound RaSi(OR1)4-a is 50 to 100 mol % of the total units forming the polymer.
