    摘要: A driving circuit of a display device like liquid crystal display, which is small in circuit size, ensures good quality images, and can freely change the display gradation, is configured to execute digital-analog conversion by reallocating charges between a primary-side capacitor and a secondary-side capacitor and includes a plurality of such capacitors in the primary side or the secondary side to enable both quick conversion and reliable potential output to signal lines. Also in an output circuit, output of signal potentials not affected by fluctuation of properties of TFT and inverters can be realized.

    摘要: Each pixel of a liquid crystal display device comprises a switching device for selecting a data signal, a memory portion for storing the data signal selected by the switching device and outputting an analog signal corresponding to the data signal, and a circuit for supplying an AC voltage corresponding to the analog signal to the liquid crystal layer. The liquid crystal layer is driven with a data signal stored in the memory portion or with an AC voltage corresponding to an analog signal corresponding to the data signal. With the signal stored in the memory portion, an AC voltage whose effective value or average value is controlled is supplied to the liquid crystal layer. Thus, unless a picture on the display is changed, since it is not necessary to supply the data signal, the peripheral driving circuit can be stopped. Consequently, although a picture is displayed in gradation mode, the power consumption can be remarkably reduced.

    摘要: A liquid crystal display device comprises a poly-silicon TFT substrate having a condenser type digital analog converter, an another substrate disposed so as to face the poly-silicon TFT substrate, and liquid crystal positioned between the poly-silicon TFT substrate and the another substrate. In this liquid crystal device, a light blocking film is formed on a surface of the another substrate and contacts with the liquid crystal. The light blocking film has a resistance larger than n·τ/CLC wherein n is a number of bits of the condenser type digital analog converter, τ is an operation stabilizing time of a condenser per one bit, and CLC is electrostatic capacitance between the poly-silicon TFT substrate and the another substrate.
