It is determined whether at least one request to replicate at least one business object is valid. The business object comprising a plurality of hierarchically arranged nodes, with a root node on a first end, at least one leaf node on a second end, and at least one intermediate node disposed between the root node and the at least one leaf node. Thereafter, a valid path from the root node to replication nodes within each business object specified in the at least one request is determined if it was determined that corresponding request is valid. A replication tree is then generated based on the determined valid path. The replication tree is then traversed and an association is returned when stopping on a leaf node and a replication node is returned when traversing a node to be replicated. A retrieve by association service is executed when an association is returned, otherwise, a retrieve service is executed. Thereafter, nodes retrieved via the retrieve by association service or the retrieve service are stored in a replication store using packages having a fixed size to enable the replication store to be searched. This disclosure relates to computer implemented methods, systems, and software for querying data associated with a service-oriented enterprise software application. A query request is received, for data associated with a service-oriented enterprise software application. A business information view object can be identified based on the query request. Using a query embodied in the business information view object, business objects can be queried that are decoupled from the enterprise software application. In another instance, a business object associated with a service-oriented enterprise software application can be identified and metadata extracted, relating to the identified business object. Business information view objects can be automatically generated based on the business object and the extracted metadata.

A data analysis workbench enables a user to define a data analysis process that includes an extract sub-process to obtain transactional data from a source system, a load sub-process for providing the extracted data to a data warehouse or data mart, a data mining analysis sub-process to use the obtained transactional data, and a deployment sub-process to make the data mining results accessible by another computer program. Common settings used by each of the sub-processes are defined, as are specialized settings relevant to each of the sub-processes. The invention also enables a user to define an order in which the defined sub-processes are to be executed.

A system includes a source of revenue information, a source of cost information, a sales order business object that provides revenue information and attributes regarding at least one product sold, and additional business objects that provide additional attributes related to the at least one product sold. The system also includes an information joining module that joins cost information, revenue information, product attributes and other attributes to determine a profit margin associated with the product sold. In operation, replicated information related to the sale of a product and cost associated with the product is joined with replicated information with attributes from a plurality of business objects.
