Abstract:
A demonstration arrangement for controlling a plurality of television sets or other controllable electronic devices has one or more programmed processors. A control interface is adapted to receive user commands. The processors are programmed to, upon receipt of user commands: select one or more television sets or groups of television sets while leaving others of the television sets unselected; select one of the content sources; and send signals that cause the selected content sources to be displayed by the selected one or more television sets or groups of television sets without affecting operation of unselected television sets or groups of television sets. This abstract is not to be considered limiting, since other embodiments may deviate from the features described in this abstract.
Abstract:
A free-running secure clock in a computing device that is adjustable by a user of the device so long as cumulative adjustments do not exceed a predicted clock drift. The clock may be initially set by the user or by a trusted time authority or the like. Such a clock may be required in a trust-based system that measures a temporal requirement against the clock.

Abstract:
A method of electronic devices arranged on display walls involves a processor receiving information in a self description signal from an electronic device that characterizes it by at least an IP address and a command set which is stored in a database. A video representation is generated for display on a video display. The electronic device is selected from the database to retrieve at least a portion of the self identification information of the device from the database. Instructions are then issued to place an icon representing the device in a location on the video representation of one of the plurality of walls, where the icon is associated with the electronic device in the location on the wall with a selection of the electronic device for remote control. This abstract is not to be considered limiting, since other embodiments may deviate from the features described in this abstract.

Abstract:
A display incorporates both narrow-band light emitters and broadband light emitters. The light emitters are controlled to display images according to image data. The narrow-band light emitters can be used to provide highly saturated primary colors. Light from the broadband light sources may be mixed with the broadband light. This can reduce metamerism failures arising from variations in the characteristics of the eyes of observers.

Abstract:
A playback system in a digital cinema network synchronizes the presentation of visual and aural content by deriving timing information for packets of information that are conveyed in video and audio data streams, examining the timing information to determine if any misalignment between the two data streams is likely to be perceptible and, if the misalignment is deemed to be perceptible, introducing delays into one or both data streams to correct the misalignment. If the audio data stream precedes the video data stream, the audio data stream is delayed by an integer number of audio sample periods. If the video data stream precedes the audio data stream, the video data stream is delayed by an integer number of video frames and the audio data stream is delayed by an integer number of audio sample periods.
Abstract:
A video image processing system includes a decay processor provided in a signal path via which a video key signal is recirculated through a frame store. The decay processor includes a selector switch for determining which of a plurality of signal paths having different signal modifying characteristics is included in the recirculation path. The selector switch is controlled by a pseudo random sequence generator, thus providing novel visual effects.
Abstract:
In one embodiment the present invention includes a display system for displaying video. The display system includes a backlight layer and an LCD layer. The display system controls the backlight layer and the LCD layer to emulate a cathode ray tube response. This emulation may be accomplished by applying a gamma function to a gamma corrected input signal. In this manner, the effects resulting from the “crushed blacks” phenomenon may be reduced.
