    Abstract: To crown (deform into a convex state) a die for a press brake (bending press), a number of a pair of upper and lower wedges are arranged between the lower die and the lower table at intervals along the longitudinal direction of the press brake, and simultaneously moved in the lateral direction by an elastic member (plate spring) fitted to each bottom groove formed in the lower wedge. Both free ends of the elastic member is moved by elastic member adjusting means including two sprocket wheels, two tubular nut members, a control motor, etc. To provide a smooth wedge slidable motion, springs are disposed to urge the lower die upward together with a lower die base.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a press machine that has a vertically movable ram for supporting upper or lower bending tools, said ram being integrally provided with an operation member, and a position determining member having an adjustable position located at a suitable point on said press machine such that when the operation member on the ram contacts the position determining member, the vertical movement of the ram is stopped. The press machine further includes a screw mechanism that is screw-coupled to the position determining member and is movable in an axial direction, a pulse motor drive unit which turns the threaded bolt, and a manual pulse generator for operating the pulse motor from a remote location.

    Abstract: A vertical, hydraulic bending press has a ram which is connected with the hydraulic cylinder so that an even and uniform sectional modulus is applied over the full length of the ram to decrease stress concentration of the ram during bending of the workpiece. The press frame includes means for guiding the ram. Additionally, a load detection device is provided on either side of the ram so that the ram may be stopped when misloading of the ram is detected.

    Abstract: In a bending press, the stroke length of a ram member is automatically set based upon conditions such as the angle to be made on a workpiece, the width and configuration of a groove in a lower tool, and the thickness, width and tensile strength of the workpiece. There is also an input device into which the bending conditions are set and a computer for calculating the stroke length of the ram member which is then automatically adjusted. A device for detecting deflections occurring in an overhead beam in the bending press is connected to the computer to compensate for the stroke lengths of the ram member. The press accurately and easily bends sheet-like workpieces into various shapes including those cylindrical and semicircular in cross section.
