摘要： A hood for a garment. As assembled, the garment includes a covering for a torso portion of an intended user. The torso portion includes a back section that includes at least two panels defining an interstitial space for stowing a flattened hood. The hood assembled to the garment includes one or more panels of drapable sheet material configured to cover an intended user's head. The hood has a body having one or more perimetrical edges defining a facial area 11 configured to expose a predetermined portion of an intended user's face. The hood has a top section, with downwardly extending back and side sections. The hood is flattenable, without folding, rolling, creasing, crumpling, etc. so as to either not (1) reduce the length or width of the hood relative to an intended donned state or (2) substantially overlap materials in the flattened state. The hood is anchored to the torso portion along a back perimetrical edge of the hood to at least one of the torso portion panels. The panels include an opening for receiving the hood into the interstitial space, the interstitial space being configured to receive and stow the hood in the flattened state.

摘要： The inventive subject matter shown and described is directed to an item of footwear with a tensioning system, comprising: a shell for enclosing a foot and at least a portion of a lower leg; a pair of opposing edges generally aligned along the top of foot portion of the shell and/or a front lower leg portion, the edges generally aligning with a longitudinal axis of the foot and/or lower leg, the opposing edges defining opposite sides of the shell; a foot retraction system comprising a tension path and at least two anchor points disposed along the path on the opposite sides of the shell and supporting at least one tensionable cable section disposed along the path, at least one anchor point comprising a tensioning mechanism, the tensioning mechanism allowing for adjustable tensioning of the cable section, the anchor points being arranged on opposite sides of the shell that support the edges, at least one being on a lateral or medial side of a boot and not on the top of the foot and front of the lower leg, so that tensioning of the cable causes the opposing edges to converge together. The inventive subject matter is particularly suitable for use in boots for snow and skating sports or any other such sport where sliding movement of the foot or leg relative to the item of footwear is undesirable and where secure coupling of the item to the foot and leg facilitates transfer of power to a board, ski, skate blade, set of skate wheels, etc., that is coupled to the item.

摘要： A method and a system are provided for retaining a side window in a vehicle to meet FMVSS No. 226 standard, where the side window is being secured to an exterior surface of a vehicle body. An optically transparent flexible film laminate is adhered to a visible interior surface of the side window. The optically transparent flexible film laminate has a thickness of between about 0.005 inches and about 0.020 inches. A peripheral edge of the optically transparent flexible film laminate is bonded to an interior surface of the vehicle body. The bonding agent overlaps the peripheral edge and the interior surface at a distance of at least 0.5 inches. The bonding agent can be a Sikaflex-552 adhesive.
