Abstract:
A remote gaze tracking apparatus and method for controlling an Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) are provided. An entire image including a facial region of a user may be acquired using a visible ray, the facial region may be detected from the acquired entire image, and a face width, a distance between eyes, and a distance between an eye and a screen may be acquired from the detected facial region. Additionally, an enlarged eye image corresponding to a face of the user may be acquired using at least one of the acquired face width, the acquired distance between the eyes, and the acquired distance between the eye and the screen, and an eye gaze of the user may be tracked using the acquired eye image.

A driving assist system for a vehicle and a method thereof includes a broadband camera which photographs the surrounding area of the vehicle to create an image including four channels of light information having different wavelengths. The broadband image data and the position of the vehicle are matched so that a road and an obstacle are easily recognized using a minimal number of cameras while driving the vehicle. Recognition performance of a drivable area is significantly improved, navigation for the vehicle is easily measured, and thebiometric recognizing abilities of a driver monitoring camera is improved, thereby improving the convenience of a driver by the improvement of a the performance of a driving assist device.

Provided are a multi-functional hybrid fiber, a composite material with the same, and a method of manufacturing the same. The multi-functional hybrid fiber includes a carbon fiber having a bundle of a plurality of continuous fibers, the continuous fiber having an external diameter of 5 μm to 10 μm, a nano particle attached to an outer surface of the carbon fiber by an electrophoretic deposition method, and a metal attached to the outer surface of the carbon fiber by an electroplating method. The nano particle and metal are mixed and attached to the outer surface of the carbon fiber by the simultaneous electrophoretic deposition and electroplating methods.
