摘要: Disclosed herein is a method for fabricating an optical device that includes depositing an etch stop material to form an etch stop layer, wherein the etch stop material has a refractive index in the infrared wavelength range, n1; depositing a core material to form a core layer, wherein the core material has a refractive index in the infrared wavelength range, n2; and etching the core layer using a halide based etch process, wherein the etch stop material has an etch rate in the halide based etch process and the core material has an etch rate in the halide based etch process, wherein the etch rate of the core material is at least about five times higher than the etch rate of the etch stop material, and wherein n1 is not greater than n2.

The core includes a middle core layer and an outside core layer having respective first and second indices of refraction. The first index of refraction is smaller than the second index of refraction. 摘要: Thermal energy is generated within an optical NFT when in operation within a HAMR head. A heat-sink assembly within the HAMR head extracts thermal energy from the optical NFT and transmits the thermal energy via convection to air surrounding the HAMR head, radiation to surfaces adjacent to the HAMR head, and/or conduction to other parts of the HAMR head. The thermal energy generated within the optical NFT is conducted to the heat-sink. An air-bearing surface of the heat-sink convectively transfers at least some of the thermal energy to air passing between the air-bearing surface and a surface of an adjacent magnetic medium. Further, some of the thermal energy may also radiatively transfer from the air-bearing surface to the magnetic medium.

摘要: A footwear to prevent snake bite may include a lower portion, an upper portion, and an inner protecting portion. In one embodiment, the appearance of footwear has no difference from a typical boot, and the upper portion can be used to cover at least to the user's leg portion. The upper portion can be made by a number of layers of fabric, leather, or the like. In an exemplary embodiment, the inner protecting portion can be a metal sheet that can be used to protect the user from snake bite. More specifically, the inner protecting portion can be disposed inside and surrounding the lower and upper portions of the footwear.
