As an alternative to the sense resistor, the switches themselves can be used to sense current during operation.

    摘要: For detecting swelling in batteries supplying power to electrical equipment, at least one contact sensor such as quantum tunneling composite (“QTC”) based pressure-capacitive sensor coated on one surface with a layer of conductive material such as indium tin oxide (“ITO”) or a capacitive sensor coated with the same conductive material is used for attachment to each battery. A capacitance measuring module including a microcontroller is connected to the contact sensor and measures the capacitance of the ITO-coated conductor. If the capacitance under measurement represents an increase in capacitance exceeding a predetermined threshold, indicative of battery swelling, a call for battery replacement and interruption of battery power to the electrical equipment are initiated.

    摘要: A high input-voltage push-pull forward voltage regulator module (VRM) has high efficiency and fast transient response. The VRM has a primary side wherein two switches and two primary transformer windings are alternately connected in a loop. A capacitor is connected between any of two interleaved terminations. The remaining two terminations are connected to input and ground respectively. The two primary transformer windings have the same number of turns. A number of secondary sides may be used such as, for example, a half wave rectifier or a center tapped secondary. The high input-voltage push-pull forward VRM has high efficiency and fast transient-response with reduced filter capacitance and inductance. Its magnetic components can be easily integrated. As a result, very high power density can be achieved. The device die size needed to achieve the required efficiency is reduced. And control is simple. Therefore, this topology is very cost effective.

    摘要: A four switch voltage converter is regulated for buck mode and boost mode under constant frequency valley-peak current mode control. Protection circuits are responsive to output voltage and regulator current to prevent excessive current that otherwise might result from abnormally low output voltage short circuit, or spurious switching abnormalities during low duty cycle operation. The regulator control circuit is responsive to the protection circuits to automatically connect a regulator inductor between a common potential and the output to limit current.
