Abstract: Discussed is an energy storage system connected with a power grid, and including a photovoltaic (PV) system; a power conversion system to be connected with the power grid and selectively connected to the photovoltaic system; a first switch to selectively connect the photovoltaic system and a direct current (DC) link of the power conversion system; a first ground fault detector including a terminal connected to a ground; a second switch selectively to connect the photovoltaic system and another terminal of the first ground fault detector; and a switch controller to change a ground structure of at least one of the photovoltaic system, the power conversion system, and a battery system included in the energy storage system and to selectively connect the photovoltaic system and the DC link, by controlling the first switch and the second switch based on a power generation state of the photovoltaic system.

Abstract: An energy storage system includes at least one battery rack and a controller. Each battery rack includes a direct current/direct current (DC/DC) converter and a plurality of battery units. The plurality of battery units is connected in series to the DC/DC converter, so that the battery rack can obtain charging power or output discharging power by using the DC/DC converter. Each battery unit includes a cell and an optimizer, and the optimizer of each battery unit is configured to perform bypass or series connection control on the cell in the same battery unit. The controller is connected to each battery unit, and the controller is configured to, when detecting that a fault occurs in a battery unit, control an optimizer of the faulty battery unit to bypass a cell in the faulty battery unit.

Abstract: A mobile power system for electrically powering equipment in a vehicle, where the system contains two electrical circuits operating at two different voltages. One of the two circuits is for providing power to and using power from the batteries onboard the mobile power system, and the other of the two circuits is for providing power to and using power from the vehicle battery. Abstract: A solar charging system includes a first battery, a second battery, and processing circuitry. The processing circuitry charges the second battery by supplying electric power from the first battery to the second battery when a state of charge of the first battery is greater than or equal to a prescribed upper limit value, and charges the first battery by stopping supply of electric power from the first battery to the second battery when the state of charge of the first battery is less than or equal to a prescribed lower limit value. A range from the upper limit value to the lower limit value is a range of use of the first battery. The processing circuitry changes the range of use such that the range of use is wider when a degree of degradation of the first battery is high than when the degree of degradation is low.

Abstract: A temperature control method for an energy storage system includes: comparing an output power of a photovoltaic module with a maximum chargeable power of a cell pack in the energy storage system; and enabling at least one heating module in response to that the output power of the photovoltaic module is greater than the maximum chargeable power of the cell pack in the energy storage system; or disabling all heating modules in response to that the output power of the photovoltaic module is less than or equal to the maximum chargeable power of the cell pack in the energy storage system. The heating module included in the energy storage system is in a one-to-one correspondence with the cell pack.

Abstract: In a maximum power point tracking (MPPT) solar charging system, the solar array is re-configured to have the majority panels connected in parallel, while some panels remain in series for MPPT charge controller. The split wire(s) from the string of panels connected in series can be connected to all the other panels connected in parallel. The split wire is connected to the apparatus_Solar Charge Maximizing controller, to directly power a direct current_DC load, and to charge a battery or battery bank with the same nominal voltage. The solar charge maximizing controller(s) works in conjunction with MPPT charge controller(s) to maximize the total charge current in the ever-changing solar radiation conditions and in the constant changing DC load (inverters in general) conditions.
