摘要： A storage apparatus includes: a front disk unit for receiving a first modular inserted from the front face of a general purpose chassis into a space with a plurality of first cooling devices in an opened state; and a rear disk unit for receiving a second modular inserted from the back face of the general purpose chassis into a space with a plurality of second cooling devices in an opened state. Furthermore, the storage apparatus includes a regulating member for regulating, according to an open-close state of at least one cooling device from among the plurality of openable first cooling devices and the plurality of openable second cooling devices which are provided to face the front face and back face of the general purpose chassis, respectively, an open-close state of the remaining cooling devices.

摘要： Aligned disk drives are installed in a disk box nearly taking a rectangular shape. Every two of the disk boxes are paired and accommodated in a rack in a multi-stage form. Each pair of disk boxes are disposed with their exhaust planes opposed to each other with a gap therebetween. An air intake plane of each disk box opposite to the exhaust is disposed on a front or rear side of the rack. A draft path, having front and rear walls formed by gaps between disk boxes and side walls on left and right planes of the rack, is formed in the rack center. Exhaust fans disposed on top of the rack and having air intake ports nearly equivalent in dimension to a section of the draft path suck in air through the intake and exhaust planes and draft path, and exhaust the air outside the rack.

摘要： A cooling structure for electronic devices includes a plurality of electronic device accommodating boxes, in which electronic devices are accommodated, disposed in a casing in multiple stages. A vent portion which allows ventilation between the inside and the outside of the casing is formed in a ceiling of the casing. In a first accommodating portion for accommodating the first electronic device accommodating box which is defined at the stage close to the ceiling, a hollow duct having two opening faces is arranged. The first opening face faces the vent portion and the second opening face faces a second accommodating portion for accommodating the second electronic device accommodating box which is defined at the stage remote from the ceiling. Air inside the second electronic device accommodating box is discharged through the inside of the duct. Air inside of the first electronic device accommodating box is discharged from the vent portion.

The communication cables include a transmission medium through which to transmit data, a first conductor having electrical conductivity and surrounding the transmission medium, a second conductor having electrical conductivity and surrounding the first conductor, and a covering surrounding the second conductor. The first conductor is connected to ground potential supply circuits provided in at least either disk control parts or relay parts, and the second conductor is connected to at least one of the first and second racks.

摘要： A disk array system capable of efficiently cooling the canisters and achieving the high-density mounting of the canisters without reducing the number of canisters is provided. In the disk array system having a HDD box which stores a plurality of canisters, a canister on an upstream side of cooling air and a canister on a downstream side of the cooling air both standing upright are arranged with a difference in level therebetween in the HDD box. The canister on the upstream side has a reliability assurance temperature lower than that on the downstream side, and a disk size of the canister on the upstream side is smaller than that on the downstream side. Also, the canister on the downstream side is arranged higher than that on the upstream side so that an alarm indicator LED and a ready indicator LED can be checked visually.
