摘要： An AGC apparatus and method in a BWA communication system are provided, in which a MAP interpreter detects a beamformed symbol period in an (n−1)th signal, a symbol power calculator measures an average signal level of a symbol in an nth signal, and a beamforming gain calculator calculates a beamforming gain of the nth signal by adding a beamforming gain of the (n−1)th signal to a power difference between a signal of a beamformed symbol period and a signal of a non-beamformed symbol period in the nth signal using information about the beamformed symbol period of the (n−1)th signal and the average signal level of the symbol in the nth signal.

摘要： A method and apparatus provide a broadcast parameter message in a mobile communication system providing a broadcast service. If the provided broadcast service is time domain multiplex (TDM)-multiplexed, a message generator generates the broadcast parameter message by setting a field indicating the TDM multiplexing, setting a field indicating a position of the broadcast service in each sub-buffer, setting a field indicating whether one sub-buffer includes one service and a field indicating validity of the field, and setting a field exclusively indicating actual broadcast service data stored in one sub-buffer. A transmitter modulates the broadcast parameter message and provides the modulated broadcast parameter message to a terminal that receives the broadcast service.

摘要： An apparatus and a method for estimating a channel in a Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) communication system are provided. The apparatus includes a subcarrier demapper for extracting pilot symbols at preset positions for a channel estimation; and a channel estimator for acquiring channel estimate values of subcarriers through an Infinite Impulse Response (IIR) filtering using the pilot symbols provided from the subcarrier demapper and a preset filter factor. Thus, the channel condition can be estimated by taking into account the channel change.

In an apparatus for estimating an initial fractional frequency offset in a Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) communication system, the apparatus includes a sample power calculator for calculating a power of input sample data and for calculating an average power of a specific symbol, a power threshold comparator for comparing the sample data power in magnitude with the average power of the specific symbol and for outputting one of an accumulation ON and OFF signal, a first buffer for correlating a last data of the sample data with the sample data and for storing sample data corresponding to a preset number of correlation results, a second buffer for storing sample data corresponding to correlation results other than the sample data stored in the first buffer; and an accumulator for allowing accumulation of sample data stored in the second buffer if the power threshold comparator outputs the accumulation ON signal.
