Abstract:
An apparatus and method for transmitting data in a wireless communication system using Code Division Multiplexing (CDM) are provided. A code controller distinguishes a Walsh code used for spreading during data transmission and a Walsh code unused for spreading based on a signal-to-interference ratio required by the system, and separately provides the Walsh codes. A CDM multiplexer CDM-multiplexes input data using the Walsh code used for spreading, provided from the code controller. A code modulator modulates input data using the Walsh code unused for spreading, provided from the code controller. A multiplexer multiplexes outputs of the CDM multiplexer and the code modulator.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus provide a broadcast parameter message in a mobile communication system providing a broadcast service. If the provided broadcast service is time domain multiplex (TDM)-multiplexed, a message generator generates the broadcast parameter message by setting a field indicating the TDM multiplexing, setting a field indicating a position of the broadcast service in each sub-buffer, setting a field indicating whether one sub-buffer includes one service and a field indicating validity of the field, and setting a field exclusively indicating actual broadcast service data stored in one sub-buffer. A transmitter modulates the broadcast parameter message and provides the modulated broadcast parameter message to a terminal that receives the broadcast service.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for performing Reed-Solomon (R-S) coding in a mobile communication system supporting a broadcast and multicast (BCMC) service are provided, where a determination is made as to whether a change in a broadcast overhead message (BOM) exist including information with parameters used for the BCMC service. A position of data in a new channel encoder buffer is calculated at a time when the BOM is changed. The channel encoder buffer is filled with predetermined data in an interval ranging from a start point of a buffer comprising data in the change point of the BOM to a point preceding a point of data first transmitted according to the changed BOM.

Abstract:
A method and apparatus are provided for managing a buffer that can reduce a buffer size and a number of buffers required for a receiving stage of a mobile communication system using block interleaving. In a deinterleaving buffer configured as a plurality of sub-buffers in a receiving stage of a mobile communication system for performing Reed-Solomon (RS) decoding on frames received through a wireless network, input buffer addresses of the received frames to be input to the deinterleaving buffer, and output buffer addresses of RS-decoded frames to be output to a higher layer, are set to be cyclic by a management process. The frames input to the deinterleaving buffer are RS-decoded in a sub-buffer unit and the RS-decoded frames are output to the higher layer. Newly received frames are stored in input addresses having a same pattern with a last pattern of the output addresses in the deinterleaving buffer.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for receiving data using multiple antennas in a communication system are provided. A received signal-combining scheme is determined according to the strength of an interference signal included in the signals received from the antennas. The signals received from the antennas are combined according to the determined received signal-combining scheme. In this manner, the method and apparatus adaptively use a received data-combining scheme according to the channel condition, thereby ensuring optimal reception performance.
Abstract:
A system and method are provided for setting a point of time when information is applied in a mobile communication system. A broadcast overhead message including additional information is received and its application time-point is computed. The broadcast overhead message including the additional information is then applied at the computed time-point.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for transmitting and receiving a broadcast service in a mobile communication system which outer-codes frames for a plurality of broadcast services and Time Domain Multiplex (TDM)-transmits the outer-coded frames. A transmitter transmits a broadcast parameter message comprising information indicating a specific sub-buffer in which respective broadcast services are stored. A receiver for receiving the broadcast parameter message from the transmitter, and maps the sub-buffer to a corresponding sub-block mask based on the broadcast parameter message. The transmitter TDM-transmits the frames for the plurality of broadcast services per sub-block. The receiver selectively receives frames for a desired broadcast service using the sub-block mask and decodes the selectively received frames.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for transmitting a message in a wireless terminal, the method including if transmission of a message created in a message mode of the wireless terminal is selected, performing the message transmission; and if a closing operation of the wireless terminal is performed during the message transmission, continuing the message transmission in a state where the wireless terminal has been closed.
