摘要： A small, compact multifunction printing device provides excellent ease of use with little possibility of slips and continuous paper jamming inside. The multifunction printer has a check processing unit and a continuous paper processing unit. The check processing unit has a U-shaped check conveyance path that opens to the front of the printer and enables handling slips to be processed and the processed slips from the front of the printer. A continuous paper conveyance path that conveys continuous paper fed from a paper roll in the roll paper compartment from the back to the front of the printer is formed on the inside of the check conveyance path, enabling replacing roll paper and removing processed continuous paper from the front. The conveyance paths are independent of each other, the printing positions thereof are separated, and conveyed slips and continuous paper will not interfere with each other.

The check transportation path (5) can be opened with a simple single-action operation to remove checks (4) jammed in the check transportation path (5) and for maintenance of the magnetic head (84) and contact image sensors (82 and 83). When the task is completed, the open check transportation path (5) can also be returned to the original closed position by a simple single-action operation. If only those parts that require maintenance are exposed when the check transportation path is open, tasks that require opening the transportation path can be done without damaging other parts and without soiling the operator's fingers.

摘要： A modular, multi-function information processing device suitable for point-of-sale (POS) station arrangements wherein separate printer and controller components are individually housed and arranged in a stacked vertical configuration. This arrangement save space by minimizing the overall footprint of the station. The connection between these components can be easily established or terminated for performing maintenance on a particular component or subassembly. Subassemblies within the housing may be extracted without impacting the overall structure of the device or use of the other components, and additional components can be easily added. Additionally, the reliability of the apparatus and constituent components and subassemblies is further improved through the implementation of electrostatic countermeasures, including component to component grounding and automatic grounding of the entire apparatus when users insert a key into a central locking mechanism electrically connected to a common electronic and physical reference.
