Abstract:
In general, systems and techniques for managing and updating medical information are described. In one example, a computer-implemented method for managing medical information is described. The method includes receiving current diagnostic information that includes one or more current individual diagnoses for a patient, comparing the current diagnostic information to prior diagnostic information that includes one or more prior individual diagnoses for the patient, determining one or more possible errors in the current diagnostic information based on the comparison, and generating an alert associated with each possible error of the one or more possible errors.
Abstract:
This disclosure describes systems, devices, and techniques for identifying and analyzing copied and pasted passages of medical documents. In one example, a computer-implemented method includes receiving, by a computing device, a second medical document related to a patient encounter and determining, by the computing device, that a passage of the second medical document has been copied from a first medical document. The method may also include determining, by the computing device, a risk level for the passage, the risk level indicating a likelihood that the passage includes inaccurate information regarding the patient encounter, determining, by the computing device, that the risk level exceeds a risk threshold, and outputting, by the computing device, an indication of the passage for which the risk level exceeds the risk threshold.
Abstract:
In one embodiment, the disclosure is directed to a method for analyzing medical documentation. One or more computing devices store a plurality of medical records and coded administrative data. The one or more computing devices compare information contained in the plurality of medical records with information contained in coded administrative data. The one or more computing devices identify one or more risks based on the comparison of the information contained in the plurality of medical records with the information contained in the coded administrative data. The one or more computing devices output information associated with the one or more risks in the medical documentation.
