Abstract: A device to measure the voltage at a test point, also referred to as a test point voltage sensor, comprises a housing formed from a first material and a second material, wherein the first material comprises an insulating material and the second material comprises a conductive or semiconductive material. The housing includes an opening configured to cover a test point of a cable accessory. The device further includes a pressure pad, disposed in the housing, having a conductive mating surface configured to contact a test point of the basic insulation plug or end plug. The device further includes a low side capacitor embedded in the housing and electrically coupled to the conductive mating surface. The device further includes a signal wire electrically coupled to the low side capacitor.

Abstract: A sensor for a separable connector comprises a plug body comprising an insulating resin, the plug body configured to be inserted into the separable connector to encase a high voltage conductor disposed in the separable connector. The sensor also includes one or more high voltage capacitors encased by the insulating resin and configured to be electrically coupled to the separable connector at a first end portion when the plug body is inserted and one or more low voltage capacitors electrically coupled in series to the one or more high voltage capacitors to form a capacitive voltage divider. The sensor also includes a low voltage connection configured to provide a low voltage signal corresponding to a high voltage signal present in the separable connector, the low voltage connection comprising a coaxial contact having a first metal contact and a second metal contact.

Abstract: Devices are described that support, house, and protect an electrical cable monitoring system that is electrically coupled to an electrical cable. An example support structure includes an elongate body including an interior surface extending along and concentric to an axis of the electrical cable. The body is configured to engage a cable accessory disposed on the electrical cable. The support structure includes a first electrode attached to the interior surface and configured to operatively couple to the cable accessory. The support structure includes a second electrode attached to the body and configured to operatively couple to the shielding layer. The support structure includes a monitoring device attached to the interior surface and operatively coupled to the first and second electrodes. The monitoring device is configured to monitor one or more conditions of the electrical cable or the cable accessory.

Abstract: A fault circuit indicator (FCI) detection system for electrical equipment disposed in an enclosure or vault having an above-ground vent pipe exhaust outlet comprises one or more sensors disposed in the enclosure or vault to sense a condition of at least one unit of the electrical equipment. A sensored analytics unit (SAU) is coupled to the sensors to receive sensor data and analyze the sensor data, the SAU generating a corresponding analyzed data signal that provides information related to a condition of the at least one unit of electrical equipment. A transceiver is disposed inside at least a portion of the vent pipe to receive the analyzed data signal, wherein the transceiver is configured to communicate the analyzed data signal. A visual indicator is disposed on or within the vent pipe comprising one or more visual indicators, such as LEDs, driven by a driving circuit board to provide a visual signal corresponding to the condition of the at least one unit of electrical equipment.
