Abstract: An emergency LED lighting system maintains power to an LED lighting source based on measured voltages and currents provided to the LED lighting source; rolls back or decreases power provided to an LED lighting source over time in order to increase the amount of time the battery can power the LED lighting source; executes a soft start procedure, such that the power provided to the LED lighting source is gradually ramped up during activation of the LED lighting sources; identifies a type of battery coupled to the emergency LED lighting system; cycles the emergency LED lighting system between charging mode and standby mode to reduce power consumption over a window of time; detects AC power or an absence of AC power; and/or uses a status LED to communicate information about the emergency LED lighting system with a remote device.

Abstract: A housing and an endcap may provide a water-resistant enclosure for an emergency lighting component. An upper side of the housing may include a curved surface extending above a vertical side of the housing. The vertical side may include an inclined surface and an extended edge that provide a first concave opening below the curved surface. A base side of the housing may include a curved surface extending partially below the vertical side. The vertical side may include an additional extended edge and a curved surface that provide a second concave opening where the vertical side joins the base side. The endcap may include a rim that overlaps a portion of the housing. The first or second concave openings may receive fasteners to attach the endcap. Mounting brackets may attach to the first or second concave openings, such as to attach the housing to a surface.

The first member and the second member together define the battery-driver enclosure, and the first member and the second member overlap at non-adjacent corners of the enclosure. A method of assembling a battery-driver enclosure includes engaging the first member with the second member to form the battery-driver enclosure and such that the first member and the second member overlap at non-adjacent corners of the battery-driver enclosure.
