Abstract: Provided is a flame retardant composition containing at least one phosphate ester represented by general formula (1), wherein the total content of phosphate esters in which n=1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 among the phosphate esters is 99-100 mass %, and the content of phosphate esters represented by general formula (1) in which n=1 is at least 60 mass % and less than 70 mass % with respect to the total amount of the phosphate esters (in formula (1), R1 and R2 each independently represent a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, and n represents a number of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7).
