Abstract: An optical filter includes: an absorption layer including a first near-infrared absorbing dye (D1), a second near-infrared absorbing dye (D2), and a transparent resin; and a reflection layer including a dielectric multilayer film. The dye (D1) and the dye (D2) are squarylium compounds satisfying following (1) to (3). (1) The dye (D1) has a maximum absorption wavelength λmax(D1) within a range of 680 to 730 nm, and the difference between a wavelength at which a transmittance is 80% on the shorter wavelength side than λmax(D1) when the concentration is adjusted such that a transmittance at λmax(D1) is 10%, and λmax(D1) is 100 nm or less. (2) The dye (D2) has a maximum absorption wavelength λmax(D2) within a range of 720 to 770 nm. (3) A value obtained by subtracting λmax(D1) from λmax(D2) is 30 nm or more and 85 nm or less.

Abstract: To provide an optical filter having shielding effects against near ultraviolet rays and near infrared rays. An optical filter comprising a transparent resin body having a single layer or multilayer structure, and containing a near ultraviolet absorbing dye (U) which is a compound represented by the following formula (U) and which has an absorption maximum at a wavelength of from 370 to 425 nm and has a molar absorptivity at the maximum absorption wavelength of at least 50,000 [L/(mol·cm)], and a near infrared absorbing dye (A) which has an absorption maximum at a wavelength of from 600 to 800 nm: In the formula (U), Y is an oxygen atom, a methylene group or a dimethylene group, R1 is a monovalent hydrocarbon group which may have a substituent, or the like, R2 to R5 are a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkoxy group or the like, and X is a bivalent group represented by any one of the formulae (X1) to (X5) or the like.

(i-1) In an absorption spectrum of a wavelength of 400 to 800 nm, there is a maximum absorption wavelength λmax in 670 to 730 nm. (i-2) Between a maximum absorption coefficient εA of light with a wavelength of 430 to 550 nm and a maximum absorption coefficient εB of light with a wavelength of 670 to 730 nm, the following relational expression: εB/εA≥65 is established. (i-3) In a spectral transmittance curve, the difference between a wavelength λ80 with which the transmittance becomes 80% on a shorter wavelength side than the maximum absorption wavelength with the transmittance at the maximum absorption wavelength λmax set to 10% and the maximum absorption wavelength λmax is 65 nm or less.

Abstract: There is provided a near-infrared cut filter which has a visible light transmitting property and a near-infrared shielding property both at high levels by that its transmission spectrum has a steep inclination in the vicinity of the boundary between the visible light and the near-infrared, and which can also be sufficiently reduced in size and thickness. The near-infrared cut filter has a near-infrared absorbing layer which contains a near-infrared absorbing dye containing at least one dye in which a condensed ring structure containing at least a benzene ring and a ring having nitrogen atom is bonded to both sides of a squarylium skeleton and which have a carboxylic acid amide structure at a second position of the benzene ring (where the carboxylic acid has a substituent having 5 to 25 having one or more branches), and a transparent resin with a refractive index of 1.45 or more.
