The present disclosure relates to methods for manufacturing a part made from a composite material by means of a drape forming operation as well as to a tool for implementing the methods. In particular, the part has at least one inner convex surface. The methods use at least one outer manufacturing mold and at least one intermediate mold. The inner surface of the outer manufacturing mold substantially defines outer lines of the part to be manufactured, and the intermediate mold is arranged opposite the inner surface of the outer manufacturing mold such that an inner surface of the intermediate mold at least partially defines the molding lines of an intermediate portion of the part to be produced.
Abstract:
A tool assembly for manufacturing a part made of a composite material having a convex surface includes a mold. The mold at least partially defines the lines of the convex surface and is shaped so as to support, in a working position, drape-molding and polymerization operations for the part. In particular, the mold has a flexible portion alternating between the working position and a removal position where the mold is retracted relative to the working position.

A key tool is provided that includes at least two keys having adjacent edges, the tool being substantially cylindrical in shape with a central axis, the adjacent edges being substantially parallel to the central axis. The adjacent edges have covers that are tangential relative to the inner and/or outer portions of the key tool. An application of the key tool is in the production of composite panels, in particular for an aircraft engine nacelle.

The present disclosure relates to a set of tools for producing a composite part with a circumference higher than 180° having at least one convex surface which cannot be stripped. The set of tools includes at least one core and a plurality of keys. One of the keys includes supporting and holding walls, and a lateral wall. The supporting wall has a shape substantially similar to the shape of a working wall of the core, and the holding wall supports at least in part a first skin of the composite part to be produced. Furthermore, the lateral wall includes a holder to maintain together at least two adjacent keys, and the holder allows a circumferential clearance between adjacent lateral walls of the two adjacent keys.
