摘要: Systems and methods for tracking orthodontic treatment using camera images. One or more input two-dimensional (2D) images of a patient's current teeth taken by a camera device can be received. The input 2D image(s) can correspond to occlusal view(s) of the patient's current teeth of the patient's upper and/or lower jaw in a current configuration. One or more rendered 2D images representing target positions of the patient's teeth at a planned treatment stage can be assessed. The rendered 2D image(s) can be based on virtual camera parameters that correspond to the input 2D image(s). One or more rotational differences between the patient's current teeth and the planned treatment stage can be determined by comparing silhouettes of corresponding teeth of the input 2D image(s) to the rendered 2D image(s). A difference indicator indicating the rotational difference(s) can be output.

摘要: Feedback data useful in prosthodontic procedures associated with the intra oral cavity is provided. First, a 3D numerical model of the target zone in the intra oral cavity is provided, and this is manipulated so as to extract particular data that may be useful in a particular procedure, for example data relating to the finish line or to the shape and size of a preparation. The relationship between this data and the procedure is then determined, for example the clearance between the preparation and the intended crown. Feedback data, indicative of this relationship, is then generated, for example whether the preparation geometry is adequate for the particular type of prosthesis.

摘要: A system for generating missing data for 3D models of intraoral structures of a patient. The system may include a hand-held intraoral scanner and a computer having instructions that the system to scan the intraoral structure of a patient to generate first 3D data of the surface of a prepared tooth, generate a 3D virtual model of the prepared tooth based on the first 3D data, determine the 3D virtual model is missing a surface associated with the prepared, generate second 3D data approximating the surface that is determined to be missing from the 3D virtual model intraoral structure that is missing, and combine the second 3D data with the 3D virtual model such that the 3D virtual model includes the approximated surface, wherein the approximated surface approximates the prepared tooth associated with the surface determined to be missing from the 3D virtual model.

These methods and apparatuses may be used to determine contact locations of aligners with teeth and/or teeth with other teeth with very high precision, including determining the size of gaps where they are not in contact. These measurements may be used design, modify or replace an aligner and/or to verify aligner fit. 3D models of the whole aligner and teeth may be generated.

摘要: A method and system are provided for manufacturing a physical dental model. A virtual model is provided representative of at least a portion of the intra-oral cavity including at least one dental implant implanted therein, and the virtual model includes a virtual portion representative of each dental implant. The virtual spatial disposition of each such virtual portion is determined with respect to the virtual model, corresponding to a real spatial disposition of the respective implant with respect to the intra oral cavity. A physical model is then manufactured based on the virtual model, the physical model including a physical analog corresponding to each implant at a respective physical spatial disposition with respect to the physical model corresponding to the respective virtual spatial disposition of the respective virtual portion with respect to the first virtual model as already determined. In some embodiments, a jig is provided configured for maintaining a desired physical spatial disposition between the physical analog and a cavity of the physical dental model at least until the physical analog is affixed in the cavity.

Authentication may include verifying that the sleeve is new (unused) and/or verifying that the sleeve is appropriate and/or intended for use with the intraoral scanning system. Once authenticated, operation parameters of the intraoral scanning system can be automatically set based on information from a scanned identifier on the sleeve.
