    Abstract: A Universal Serial Bus connector includes a first contact module, a second contact module, a shielding shell enclosing the contact modules, and a grounding member. The contact modules each have a number of contacts and an insulator retaining the contacts. Each contact has a fastening portion assembled in the insulator, a contacting portion extending from the fastening portion, and a tail portion extending from the fastening portion opposite to the contacting portion. The contacts include grounding contacts. The shielding shell provides a front mating face. The grounding member connects with the grounding contacts and extends in different plane compared to the grounding contacts. The grounding member defines a front contact tab and the grounding contact defines a front edge end. The front contact tab is closer to the front mating face of the shielding shell than the front edge ends of the grounding contacts.

    Abstract: An electrical connector includes an insulative housing and two contact modules. The insulative housing has a bottom mounting portion having a cavity opening downwardly and a mating portion, the mating portion has a central mating space and a pair of side walls on both sides of the mating space, and a plurality of contact receiving passageways defined on each side wall. Each contact module has an insulator received in the cavity and a plurality of contacts insert-molded in the insulator, each contact defines a contacting arm and a soldering portion. The insulative housing defines a pair of locating portions extending downwards from two sides of the mounting portion, the distance between the pair of locating portions is smaller than an internal diameter of the cavity, a pair of demising slots are formed on an interior side of each locating portion for the contact modules passing through.

    Abstract: An electrical connector includes an insulative housing and a number of electrical contacts. The insulative housing has a top wall, a bottom wall and a number of side walls. The side walls form a number of passageways extending through the insulative housing. The electrical contacts are received in the passageways and each includes a contacting portion, a tail portion and a main portion connecting with the contacting portion and the tail portion. The main portion is provided with a first fastening means for engaging with the side wall and a second fastening means for engaging with the top wall so as to secure the electrical contacts to the insulative housing.

    Abstract: An electrical connector includes an insulative housing and a number of conductive contacts received in the insulative housing. Each conductive contact is substantially located in a main surface and includes a contacting portion extending beyond the front wall of the insulative housing, an intermediate portion extending rearward from the contacting portion and received in the insulative housing, and a termination portion bending vertically from the intermediate portion. The intermediate portion is torn to form at least an interfering means which extending away from the main surface to interferentially engage with the insulative housing for retaining the conductive contact in the insulative housing reliably.

    Abstract: A connector includes a first contact module, a second contact module, a shielding shell and a latching member. The contact modules each include a number of contacts and an insulator retaining the contacts. The contact has a fastening portion assembled in the insulator, a contacting portion extending from the fastening portion, and a terminal portion extending from the fastening portion opposite to the contacting portion. The shielding shell covers around the first and the second contact modules. The latching member assists to secure the connection between the electrical connector with a complementary connector. The first contacts and the second contacts each have a pair of grounding terminals and the latching member connects with the pair of grounding terminals.
