    Abstract: A speaker has a magnetic angle sensor that detects the displacement of the vibration system of the speaker. A non-linearity compensation filter compensates for output distortion due to a non-linear parameter of the speaker. A transfer function of a linear inverse filter is applied so that output distortion is eliminated from the displacement, detected by the magnetic angle sensor, of the vibration system. A controller drives the speaker by using a test signal, and measures a response from the detected displacement of the vibration system. If error between the measured response and the theoretical value, theoretically determined from the design specifications, of the response is small, the controller uses the theoretical value, theoretically determined from the design specifications, of the non-linear parameter as an active non-linear parameter and sets, in the non-linearity compensation filter, a transfer function that compensates for distortion in an output due to the active non-linear parameter.

    Abstract: A speaker distortion correction device includes an amplifier configured to drive a speaker; and a distortion corrector. An input signal is input to the distortion corrector, and an output of the distortion corrector is input to the amplifier. The distortion corrector includes a nonlinear distortion controller configured to generate a corrected signal obtained by performing a nonlinear distortion correction process on the input signal so that nonlinear distortion of the speaker is suppressed when the corrected signal is input to the amplifier; a maximum value calculating section configured to calculate a maximum output value of the amplifier to be obtained when the corrected signal is input to the amplifier, based on at least the input signal; and a selector configured to select the corrected signal when the maximum output value does not exceed a predetermined threshold and select the input signal when the maximum output value exceeds the predetermined threshold.

    Abstract: An overamplitude prevention apparatus of a speaker prevents overamplitude of a vibration system of the speaker with respect to an input signal. The overamplitude prevention apparatus includes a displacement detector that detects a displacement of the vibration system; and an amplitude controller to which the input signal is input. The amplitude controller includes a gain adjuster that adjusts the input signal by a set gain and outputs the input signal to the speaker; a displacement predictor that predicts the displacement based on the input signal; a predicted displacement corrector that corrects the predicted displacement; and a gain setter that sets, in the gain adjuster, the gain for attenuating the corrected displacement to a displacement not exceeding a predetermined displacement width. The predicted displacement corrector calculates a difference between the predicted displacement with the detected displacement corresponding to the input signal, and corrects the predicted displacement according to the difference.

    Abstract: A controller calculates individual parameters, including nonlinear parameters of a speaker model, based on a measured displacement of a vibration system of a speaker. A sound generator outputs an audio signal, and an output flattening filter adjusts gains of individual bands of an audio signal so that a frequency characteristic of a volume of sound output by the speaker is flattened in accordance with a speaker model obtained by linearizing calculated parameters and outputs a resultant audio signal. A nonlinear inverse filter corrects the resultant audio signal by signal processing adapted to the gains of the output flattening filter so that the nonlinear distortion of the speaker is suppressed in accordance with the speaker model including the nonlinear parameters and outputs the corrected audio signal as an output audio signal to the speaker via an amplifier.

    Abstract: In implementations of an audio system, when overheating of a speaker is detected, a controller controls first and second selectors to input an audio signal output by an audio source device to a cooling processing section and cause output of the cooling processing section to be output to the speaker. In the cooling processing section, a mixer mixes an audio signal obtained by removing a low-frequency component from the input audio signal by a high-pass filter with a cooling signal at an infrasonic frequency generated by a cooling signal generator and adjusted with a gain by a gain adjuster. An audio signal obtained by mixing the audio signal with the cooling signal is output from the cooling processing section via a nonlinear inverse filter. A gain setting section sets the gain such that power of the cooling signal matches power of the low-frequency component extracted by a low-pass filter.
