An input device includes a driver that supplies drive signals to a plurality of capacitive elements, respectively; a charge detector that detects a change in an electric charge corresponding to the drive signal in each of the plurality of capacitive elements; a capacitive element identifier that identifies the capacitive element to which an object approaches based on a detection result by the charge detector; an electric field generator that generates an electric field for reducing another electric field generated as an electric charge changes in the capacitive element when the driver supplies the drive signal to the capacitive element; and a controller that adjusts the electric field generated by the electric field generator depending on whether the capacitive element to which the driver supplies the drive signal includes the capacitive element identified by the capacitive element identifier.

An input device includes an input unit on which an operator performs a predetermined operation to perform input, a storage unit that stores a reference range set on a virtual coordinate, a control unit that identifies the operation of the operator based on a trajectory of the operation performed on the input unit by the operator and the reference range, a determination unit that determines whether the trajectory of the operation of the operator exceeds the reference range, and a range setting unit that updates the reference range based on a determination result of the determination unit.

An input apparatus includes a sensor section configured to include a plurality of detection units, and to control positive and negative polarities of a detection signal at each detection position, a control unit configured to generate a group of combined detection signals in which polarity patterns are different from each other, and a signal reproduction unit configured to reproduce signal levels of a group of detection signals on the basis of a group of combined detection signals and a group of polarity patterns, in which at least some of the plurality of detection units differ in the number of detection positions, and the control unit selects the group of polarity patterns according to the number of detection positions so that the number of positive polarities and the number of negative polarities included in each of the polarity patterns are similar to each other.

An input device includes a coordinate input unit including an operation surface on which a pressing operation can be performed and detecting contact of an operation body with the operation surface, a pressing detection unit that detects that the operation surface is pressed, and a control unit that processes detection results of the coordinate input unit and the pressing detection unit, in which the control unit obtains the center coordinate of a contact position from the detection result of the coordinate input unit, and compares the center coordinate before the pressing operation with the center coordinate after the pressing operation when there is a pressing operation with respect to the operation surface, and when a difference between the center coordinates is smaller than a threshold value, the center coordinate before the pressing operation is used as a center coordinate at the time of the pressing operation.
