Abstract: Continuous seeding of a flowing stream of sodium aluminate and with alumina hydrate to precipitate a limited amount of alumina hydrate which carries with it most of any iron and other impurities contained in said stream. The process results in an alumina of improved purity subsequently precipitated from said stream.
