    Abstract: A system wherein spherical aberration is reduced in an electronoptic device having post deflection acceleration by connecting the focusing electrode of an ''''einzel'''' type electrostatic electron lens to a unitary source of potentials at a potential more positive than the potential connected to the electrodes disposed on either side of the focusing electrode. In every case, the same supply above mentioned provides all the potentials necessary to operate the device.
