Abstract: A lens suitable for implantation in the eye is mounted within an implantable supporting system including a rim intimately fitted about the lens edge and having laterally extending anterior and posterior iris clips affixed thereto. The lens is captured and contained within the system of the rim and clips which, in turn, comprises the haptic section of the implant.
