Abstract: A winding for an electrical machine enclosed in a casing is provided with an arrangement for measuring the temperature which includes a thermocouple having its hot junction attached to the conductor of the winding at the point where the temperature is to be measured. The conductors of the thermocouple are attached to the winding conductor and to the lead-in conductor and follow the lead-in conductor outside of the casing to a point where a definable temperature prevails, at which point the cold junction of the thermocouple is located.
