摘要: A method of up-scaling a first structure of samples representing a first property, the first structure having a source resolution, into a second structure of samples representing the first property, the second structure having a target resolution, on basis of a third structure of samples representing a second property, the third structure having the source resolution and on basis of a fourth structure of samples representing the second property, the fourth structure of samples having the target resolution, the method comprising: assigning weight factors to respective first samples of the first structure of samples on basis of differences between respective third samples of the third structure of samples and fourth samples of the fourth structure of samples; and computing the second samples of the second structure of samples on basis of the first samples of the first structure of samples and the respective weight factors.

A first image signal is received and then at least one colour component of the first image signal is rendered in reduced spatial resolution to produce a second image signal. The second image signal is spatial filtered wherein spatial errors and view errors are balanced when reconstructing a full resolution signal for the display.

The method includes: determining a first intermediate value (811) from a 3-D representation on basis of a first one of the angular directions and coordinates of a first one of the picture elements (102); determining a second intermediate value (810) from the 3-D representation on basis of a further angular direction relative to the first plane and the coordinates of the first one of the picture elements; and combining the first intermediate value (811) and the second intermediate value (810) to the display value, the display value related to the particular output of a first one of the picture elements of the stereoscopic display apparatus (102).

摘要: An image processing system generates an output image from an input image through a depth-dependent transformation. The images are represented as respective pixel arrays. An input 1110 receives for each input pixel an associated input pixel value and input pixel depth. Each input pixel is associated with a respective reconstruction filter footprint. A video processor create the output pixels by, for each input pixel, transforming 1120 the input pixel to a transformed input pixel as a function of the associated input pixel depth and transforming the associated filter footprint to an transformed filter footprint as a function of the associated input pixel depth. The processor also performs a reconstruction filtering operation 1150 on a plurality of the transformed input pixels using the transformed filter footprints. An output 1160 is used for providing the output image for subsequent rendering.

摘要: An autostereoscopic display device comprising a view forming module in registration with an image forming means. The image forming means has an orthogonal array of display pixels spatially defined by an opaque matrix. The view forming module provides at least two optical functions, namely a view forming function and a brightness non-uniformity reducing function. The view forming function modifies the direction of outputs of the display pixels such that the outputs of groups of the display pixels are projected in respective different directions as a plurality of views. The view forming function is provided by an array of parallel lenticular lenses arranged across the view forming module and having a first pitch. The brightness non-uniformity reducing function spreads the outputs of the display pixels such that brightness non-uniformities caused by imaging of the opaque matrix are reduced. The brightness non-uniformity reducing function defines a second pitch across the view forming module less than the first pitch, and further defines an effective spreading angle in a plane perpendicular to axes of the view forming elements substantially equal to or less than the angle between adjacent views projected by the view forming function. The brightness non-uniformity reducing function is provided by an array of lenses or a diffuser. In the case of an array of lenses, these lenses may be integrated with the lenticular lenses providing the view forming function in the form of lenses having a polygonal cross section.
