摘要： Methods of actuating a well tool can include releasing chemical energy from at least one portion of a reactive material, thermally expanding a substance in response to the released chemical energy, and applying pressure to a piston as a result of thermally expanding the substance, thereby actuating the well tool, with these steps being repeated for each of multiple actuations of the well tool. A well tool actuator can include a substance contained in a chamber, one or more portions of a reactive material from which chemical energy is released, and a piston to which pressure is applied due to thermal expansion of the substance in response to each release of chemical energy. A well tool actuator which can be actuated multiple times may include multiple portions of a gas generating reactive material, and a piston to which pressure is applied due to generation of the gas.

An embodiment of the apparatus includes a body supporting a moveable pressure transfer member, a pressure transfer medium contained by the body and the moveable pressure transfer member, and an electronic component disposed in the pressure transfer medium, wherein the pressure transfer member is moveable to transfer a pressure to the pressure transfer medium and the electronic component. Another embodiment of the apparatus includes a moveable enclosure and a non-conductive material, wherein the non-conductive material isolates an electronic component from a downhole fluid and the moveable enclosure is operable to transfer a hydrostatic pressure to the non-conductive material and the electronic component. An embodiment of a method includes transferring a downhole hydrostatic pressure to an electronic component via a flexible package and a pressure transfer medium.

The method comprises driving an acoustic transmitter to send a data signal along the acoustic transmission path, where the signal is distorted by ambient noise. The distorted signal is input to a spaced apart plurality of sensors so that consequent time-delayed signals provide reinforcement of the basic signal and attenuation of the ambient noise component when combined.
