摘要: When a cover body at a closing position is pulled up with respect to a main body, then a lock lever attached to the cover body abuts against a hook body of the main body, regulating a rattle of the cover body with respect to the main body. When a user lifts up a multi-function peripheral device by grabbing the lock lever, the lock lever comes into engagement with the hook body, thereby preventing the lock lever from opening.

摘要: An image reader includes a casing, a contact glass plate, a contact image sensor, and a sliding mechanism; wherein the contact image sensor has a housing, a light source attached to the housing so as to face the contact glass plate, a plurality of light receiving elements attached to the housing so as to face the contact glass plate and aligned in parallel in a longitudinal direction of the housing, and a bearing formed integral to the housing at a position below a lower surface of the housing; and the sliding mechanism includes a guide shaft provided on the casing and extending in a short direction of the housing and inserted through the bearing, and an urging member elastically which urges the guide shaft toward the contact glass plate so that the housing is pressed against the contact glass plate.

摘要: A sheet conveyor includes a conveying path along which a sheet is conveyed and a transparent member disposed on the conveying path and including a surface facing the sheet being conveyed. The transparent member including a reference line extending across the transparent member in a direction perpendicular to the conveying direction. The sheet conveyor further includes a guide member comprising a guide edge that includes a first guide edge and a second guide edge, the guide edge having a shape, such that a distance from the guide edge to the reference line varies in the direction in which the reference line extends. The guide edge further may include a first guide portion and a second guide portion. The guide member is disposed upstream of the transparent member in a conveying direction of the sheet, and the guide member is configured to guide the sheet to the transparent member. The first guide portion may include a first guide edge disposed separate from a reference line by a first distance. The second guide portion also may include a second guide edge disposed separate from the reference line by a second distance different from the first distance.

摘要: An image reading apparatus capable of easily detecting the width of a document is provided that can reduce the number of component parts. A surface to be detected of a moving section that moves in linkage with the movement of a document guide is detected using an image pickup device, so that the width dimension of the document is detected. This allows the image reading apparatus to detect the width dimension of the document by using the image pickup device.

摘要: A scanner is provided with a main body, a hinge, a cover member, and a plurality of sets, each set comprising a pin and a pin hole. The main body includes a transparent plate on the top surface, on which a document is placed. The hinge connects the main body and the cover member. The cover member rotates with respect to the main body between an opened state and a closed state. The cover member has a bottom surface, which makes contact with the top surface of the main body in the closed state. The pins are formed on one of the top surface of the main body and the bottom surface of the cover member, while the pin holes are formed on the other of the top surface of the main body and the bottom surface of the cover member. The plurality of sets adjusts a positional relationship between the main body and the cover member in the closed state.

摘要: An image reader includes: a conveyance path forming member; a conveying unit; a reading unit; and a pressing unit. The conveyance path forming member forms a part of a conveyance path extending from a conveyance start position to a discharge position via an image reading position. The conveying unit is capable of conveying documents having different widths along the conveyance path. The reading unit reads the document at the reading position. The pressing unit extends in the document width direction, is disposed as opposed to the reading unit, and holds the document conveyed by the conveying unit in cooperation with the conveyance path forming member by pressing the document against the conveyance path forming member. The pressing unit is divided into a plurality of pressing members that are arranged in the document width direction and that press the documents against the conveyance path forming member independently from one another.

A first support member and a second support member support a guide and feeding roller in a scanning direction and are attached to a housing of the liquid ejection apparatus. The housing at the location to which the first support member is attached is easier to deform in the scanning direction than housing at the location to which the second support member is attached. Further, the housing at the first location may include a projection. The first support member may be attached to the projection.

摘要: An image reader has an image sensor; a carriage; a positioning portion formed at a predetermined position in a longitudinal direction of the image sensor with respect to a reference position of the image sensor; a connector portion to which an electric cable is connected and which is provided between an end of the carriage and one end in the longitudinal direction of a case of the image sensor; and an engaging portion formed in the carriage. In the image recording apparatus, since the positioning portion is engaged with the engaging portion, it is possible to use a common carriage for a plurality of types of image sensors, and an operation of connecting the electric cable becomes simple.
