    摘要： A liquid crystal light valve and a various information processors is provided. The processors have the liquid crystal light valve in which information formed in a liquid crystal layer and corresponding to address light can be read as an optical signal and can be directly read as an electric signal.A liquid crystal light valve has a glass substrate, an antireflection film, a transparent electrode, an opposite electrode, an optical waveguide, a photoconductive layer, a light interrupting layer, an orientational film, a spacer and a liquid crystal layer. The optical waveguide is composed of a lower clad layer, a core layer and a clad layer. A light source and a photodetector are connected to both ends of the optical waveguide. For example, the light source is constructed by a laser, a light emitting diode (LED), etc. The light source is connected to the optical waveguide such that a polarized wave can be guided to the optical waveguide. For example, the photodetector is constructed by an a-Si:H diode, an a-SiGe:H diode, etc. in accordance with a wavelength of the light source. The photodetector is connected to the optical waveguide so as to receive light therefrom.

    摘要： An ink jet recording apparatus includes a carriage for mounting therein a recording head which executes a recording operation by discharging ink onto a recording material, a conveying roller for conveying a recording material, and a cap for covering a discharge port of the recording head. In addition, a pump generates a negative pressure in an interior of the cap, a lock member, adapted to be rotated in synchronism with the rotation of the conveying roller, locks movement of the carriage, and a drive transmission mechanism transmits a driving power of the conveying roller to the pump. The drive transmitting mechanism is equipped with a delay mechanism for delaying transmission of the driving power to the pump until the conveying roller has been rotated by an amount corresponding to an amount of rotation of the lock member for shifting the carriage from a locked state to an unlocked state.

    摘要： An ink refilling system includes an ink jet recording apparatus, in which a cartridge with an ink containing portion can be installed. The ink jet recording apparatus includes a driver for driving a conveyer for conveying a recording medium, and a first transmitter for transmitting the driving force from the driver out of the ink jet recording apparatus. Also provided is an ink filling apparatus for filling the ink into the cartridge, the ink filling apparatus including: an ink storing portion for storing the ink to be filled into the cartridge; a connector for injecting the ink from the ink storing portion to the cartridge; a pressure-feeding device for pressure-feeding the ink through the connector; and a second transmitter for transmitting the driving force to drive the pressure-feeding device. The driving force from the driver of the ink jet recording apparatus is transmitted to the pressure-feeding device through the first and second driving force transmitters.
