Abstract: Method for dealing with an anomalous condition in a local network including a power injector, said method comprising connecting the power injector to a communication line extending between the local network and a remote device, said power injector being capable of injecting power on the communication line, for reverse powering a remote device located outside the local network, and for powering any local device that is regularly connected to the communication line; said communication line being used for exchanging data between the remote device and the local network; recognizing when a power consumption behavior of the power injector deviates from a characteristic power consumption behavior of said remote device and of any regularly connected local device; and controlling the power injector when a deviation is recognized.

Abstract: In one embodiment, the method includes inserting an access node along a subscriber loop, the access node including a bypass switch for initially connecting a terminal segment of the subscriber loop to a network segment of the subscriber loop; operating a legacy communication service over the subscriber loop; and connecting a PSE for reverse power feeding of the access node and a new subscriber device for operating the new broadband communication service to the terminal segment. The method further includes, by the PSE, transmitting a sequence of successive command signals over the terminal segment prior to the insertion of the power feeding signal; by the access node, accumulating an electrical charge from the command signals; by the access node and by means of the so accumulated electrical charge, detecting a valid command signal in the sequence of successive command signals, and thereupon configuring the bypass switch for connecting the terminal segment to a transceiver and to a PSU; by the PSE, injecting the power feeding signal over the terminal segment for reverse power feeding of the access node; and operating the new broadband communication service over the terminal segment.

Abstract: A transmission device includes a first connecting module for connecting a DC/DC power converter to a telephone wire line or to a CPE wire line, and a second connecting module between the telephone and CPE wire lines, a detection module configured to detect a power feeding request signal on the CPE wire line, and a switching module configured to controls the second connecting module in its open state, and send a power ready signal on the CPE wire line, and a not control the second connecting module and not send a signal on the CPE wire line in a standby-by state, so that a total power consumption of the detection and switching modules is lower than a threshold in a stand-by state and higher in the active state, and the detection module is configured to control the switching module in response to a detection of the power feeding request signal.
