摘要: A method and apparatus for botnet analysis and visualization. Network traffic is filtered to compile a list of messages. The identified messages are tokenized, classified, and aggregated and changes in the frequency of tokenized messages are identified. A display of the tokenized messages is generated and displayed via a user interface. The user interface is configured to a allow a user to review data generated based on the filtered network traffic in order to detect potential botnet activity. User input may be used to adjust filtering and tokenization of the messages.

摘要: A technique for display advertising on Internet “Web” pages is disclosed. The technique is used by an advertising intermediary that matches available advertising inventory from a network of publishers with the needs of advertisers who engage in advertising campaigns. The advertising intermediary sets a range of prices it will pay the publishers for placing advertisements for an advertising campaign, and sets an initial price within this range which is paid to all publishers carrying the advertisement. After the advertising campaign has proceeded to a first measuring point, the performance of the advertising is assessed, the price is adjusted within the initial price range to reflect the performance, and all publishers carrying the advertisement are then paid this adjusted price. Thereafter, when the advertising campaign has proceeded to a second measuring point, a second price adjustment is made based on the performance, with the price remaining the in the initial range. Preferably, the second price adjustment is made on a publisher-by-publisher basis based on the performance of the advertisement on web sites.

摘要: A method AND A SYSTEM for displaying in an N-dimensional display means the N+1st dimension of an equation of N+1 variables, comprising converting the equation into the form inwhich the N+1st dimension is a variable that is a function of the other first N variables, computing, by means of the function, the scalar value of each pixel, whose N coordinates represent the specific values of the first N variables, and coloring or shading the pixel according to a predetermined color pattern bywhich the scalar value conforms to a predetermined color or shading. The N dimensional display may comprise 2 or 3 dimensions and may include a computer screen, a TV monitor, a print on a printable substrate a hologram, a holographic screen, a stereoscopic TV or video display, or another two or three dimensional display means. The predetermined color pattern may be the pattern defined by the manufacturer of the computer or of the display means.

摘要: A software mechanism for enabling a programmer to embed selected machine instructions into program source code in a convenient fashion, and optionally restricting the re-ordering of such instructions by the compiler without making any significant modifications to the compiler processing. Using a table-driven approach, the mechanism parses the embedded machine instruction constructs and verifies syntax and semantic correctness. The mechanism then translates the constructs into low-level compiler internal representations that may be integrated into other compiler code with minimal compiler changes. When also supported by a robust underlying inter-module optimization framework, library routines containing embedded machine instructions according to the present invention can be inlined into applications. When those applications invoke such library routines, the present invention enables the routines to be optimized more effectively, thereby improving run-time application performance. A mechanism is also disclosed using a “_fpreg” data type to enable floating-point arithmetic to be programmed from a source level where the programmer gains access to the full width of the floating-point register representation of the underlying processor.

摘要: Self controlled method and system for identified, treatment and weaning from computer and Internet addiction. On one embodiment of the invention, the system analyzed user activity on the computer and while surfing the Internet, and presents results of his addictive level visually on user's interface. Supporting the whole information of addictive level to the user, give him the power to fight against the phenomena and prevent to increase it.The user can decide whether he wants treatment and act to have it by personal actions or by involvement of third parties such as parents, therapist, support group or even a specific social website. For weaning from the addiction the system can provide positive feedbacks, special treatment and even presents and prizes if the user reduced dramatically his addictive level.

摘要: Methods and apparatus are provided for evoking perceptions of affordances in a user/virtual environment interface. The method involves recognizing the absence or inadequacy of certain sensory stimuli in the user/virtual environment interface, and then creating sensory stimuli in the virtual environment to substitute for the recognized absent or inadequate sensory stimuli. The substitute sensory stimuli are typically communicated to the user (e.g., visually and/or audibly) as properties and behavior of objects in the virtual environment. Appropriately designed substitute sensory stimuli can evoke perceptions of affordances for the recognized absent or inadequate sensory stimuli in the user/virtual environment interface.

摘要: A momentary membrane switch that includes not only a normally open set of electrical contacts but also a normally closed set of electrical contacts. In one embodiment, a downward force applied to the switch pivots an elongated, flat rocker, to close the normally open contacts and simultaneously open the normally closed contacts. Pivoting of the rocker is yieldably resisted by an overlaying resilient membrane, which forceably returns the rocker to its original position when the force is removed. In another embodiment, a downward force applied to the switch lowers the center of a special disk into contact with an underlying circuit board, to close the normally open contacts, and simultaneously deforms the disk's periphery upwardly, to open the normally closed contacts. Internal stress in the deformed disk returns the disk to its original position when the force is removed. The rocker and disk are both retained without any special attachment in a specially-sized aperture formed in a spacer located between the underlying circuit board and overlaying membrane.

摘要: A friction support device adapted to support two members in variable positions relative to one another, through the utilization of friction, until an external force is applied to bring the two members together. The friction support device comprises a slide rod inserted into the aperture in a slide holder. As the slide rod is pulled through the slide holder the frictional forces increase, causing the two members connected thereto to remain apart until an external force is applied to bring them together.
