A plurality of components associated with a document processing device is queried, and device information data corresponding to operational characteristics of each component is received in accordance with the query. Indicia is generated on the user interface display corresponding to controls of a subset of the components based upon the comparison output. Secondary selection data corresponding to selected indicia on the display is received, and the selected document processing operation is commenced in accordance with the received secondary selection data.

Data representing each of a plurality of graphical elements that correspond to the received text data is then received. Selection data representing a selection of one of the graphical elements on the associated display is then received. Pointer data is then associated with the selected graphical element. The pointer data is further associated with the text data. Next, the selected graphical element is then displayed on the associated display in conjunction with the text data, as referenced by the pointer data.

A document processing signal representing the status of a document processing operation on an associated document processing device is first received. Media content data and preference data corresponding to user-specified media content data is then received. Display of the pre-selected media content is then suspended when the document processing signal indicates that the document processing device is active.     摘要: A system and method which efficiently manages the status of resources or services in a document processing system or device and uses a priority-based dynamic allocation process for allocating or releasing selected resources for a user or task. A job resource manager receives resource requests containing a resource name, quantity and order of use. The resource manager then determines if the request meets predetermined parameters, so as to lock the designated resource for use by the job with which the request is associated. The resource is then released for use by the job and remains inaccessible to other jobs until unlocked. The resource is unlocked by the job resource manager upon receipt of notification that the job has been completed.

Location data representing the location of the document processing device is first stored in an associated storage, along with data representing services associated with the document processing device. A user is first prompted, via an associated user-interface, to select a desired service, which is associated with a specific network service provider. The network address of each service provider is stored in the data storage in correlation with the service to which the provider is associated. The user then selects a desired service, whereupon the device generates a query including the device location data and submits the query to the service provider corresponding to the selected service. The device then receives a response from the service provider and outputs the response to the user.

    摘要: A scalable, two-stage round-robin arbiter with re-circulation and bounded latency for use in multi-threaded, multi-processing devices. An apparatus implementing the two-stage arbiter includes a plurality of masters configured in a plurality of clusters, a plurality of targets, and an chassis interconnect that may be controlled to selectively connects a given master to a given target. The chassis interconnect includes multiple sets of bus lines connected between the plurality of clusters and the plurality of targets forming a cross-bar interconnect, including sets of bus lines corresponding to a command bus. A two-stage arbitration scheme is employed to arbitrate access to the command bus. The first arbitration stage is used to arbitrate between command requests issued by masters in a given cluster. The second arbitration stage is used to arbitrate between winning first stage command requests. One embodiment of the arbitration scheme employs re-circulation of second stage losers. Another embodiment employs re-prioritization of second stage losers.
